What's the nomination tally record for a writer/director before they won? PTA is on track to potentially hit eleven career nominations this year if he gets Picture/Director/Original Screenplay, and while he might come away with a win at last in the latter category, it is by no means a certainty. This came up in my irl movie club - not sure about the "record" but Beatty someone mentioned won on his 11th (I guess you could say .....)

Of course this applies to Zegler in BA also (unless I'm mistaken?) or, gulp, all THREE of them  Is this a different Jennifer Hudson or the one who's already an Oscar winner? |

Same - maybe phrased it badly but all 3 "would have been nodded for their 1st film" - that's why it says "got" nodded........... |
