To Black Famliies - the first US City to approve: The Chicago suburb’s City Council voted 8-1 to distribute $400,000 to eligible black households. Each qualifying household would receive $25,000 for home repairs or down payments on property.

Money is nice and everything but throwing a bunch of it and not addressing real issues doesn't solve anything. Did they change any policies?

Asheville, NC was the first US city to approve this, right? That seems correct and several are in process with Evansville seemingly the first to lay it out in specifics: Hundreds of communities and organizations across the country are considering providing reparations to Black people. They range from the state of California to cities like Amherst, Massachusetts, Providence, Rhode Island, Asheville, North Carolina, and Iowa City, Iowa; religious denominations like the Episcopal Church; and prominent colleges like Georgetown University in Washington.
