I’ve been rewatching a lot of 2012 films recently for some reason. Anyways, I don’t know if I’ve seen this since I did in the theaters and I found it held up very well. Pretty much just a well crafted film with very good performances. Affleck’ s direction is very good and he’s serviceable in his role. The supporting performances are all pretty much great though. The suspense works as does the genuine feeling of risk of the 6 American’s lives. Thoughts?

I think it's a great film all around, but it came out in a year of outright masterpieces, and I'd rate it fourth of the nominees that year after Beasts of the Southern Wild, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty. Still, knowing what they could've gone with that year instead, I'm perfectly fine with it as our 2012 winner, and I actually do like Ben Affleck and was very pleased to see him get the awards comeback.

It's aight. Watched it once, was reasonably entertained. Never had the urge to watch it again. I feel like BP winners should be more memorable or have more replay value than this, but maybe others see more in it than I do. But it's the kind of middling thing the Academy was really into around that time (It's not much different from a David O Russell movie, and AMPAS loved him).

Good film, entertaining but hurt by being so far removed from the events. Would have been a better movie in the early 80s and Beatty or Redford or Lumet or even Stone did it.......it's missing a lot of darker undercurrent.

It’s entertaining for sure and from that point of view it holds up (i rewatched it last year with my mom), but it does feel a bit light. With a tighter script, it could have been a genuinely great movie.

It's a fine, entertaining piece of professionaly made but slightly faceless cinema that is very Hollywood. A bit overblown at the end with its attempts to elicit suspense but all in all it's quite enjoyable.

I was big on it in 2012 and even loved it for years, but if I'm being honest I've cooled on it over the years. I still think the movie's great and very entertaining, but compared to some other films that came out the same year, I think it's a bit more remote. It's an incredibly well-made movie though, and I'm still fine with it winning best picture.

Sucks. Bland, dull, and easily Affleck's worst film, despite Live by Night being inexplicably quite poor as well.

It is the lowest rated movie I've ever seen. Complete and utter sewer trash.
