The book is good, and Edgar is the right man for this. I’m in.

I've always wanted to see an actual adaptation of the book, and Wright makes this even more exciting, and Bacall is a fairly reliable writer these days. Shame it will keep getting dismissed as "another remake" when the book and Schwarzenegger's movie have practically nothing in common.

Don't get me wrong, I fucking adore the Arnie film and Richard Dawson is my runner-up that year and is one of my favorite villains of the 1980s, but that movie has almost nothing to do with the novel. Wright seems a good fit for it. And now I can't imagine anyone but Nick Frost as Ben Richards.

I agree that they need an average Joe for the role, so I hope they won’t cast a star.

Just started a thread on this. Didn't realise there was already one, so I'll delete it

Oooooh, I like this. I actually think he'd be a better Killian, though. He's got the swagger and charm of a Richard Dawson type that could easily be used for villainous purposes.

Rather see what Wright'd do with The Chain - what happened to that project? Running Man with Arnold is okay...but the real original was much better...... :
