Way too low for The Bends. Way too high, actually.

I think Pet Sounds narrowly missed my ballot but the placing is in the correct general area.

Can't really say Loveless should be much higher, as I had it on 12, but probably should have been top 10.

Didn't make my list but it's something - just in how it sounds/feels........this cost like a billion dollars to make too

Not just thoroughly original and idiosyncratic but the best album never finished that I can think of (along w/ Big Star 3rd) - it's basically sociopathic ideas laid down on vinyl which is probably why we all love it. Classic.

Observation: Sometimes I forget that there are really big classic Rock bands like Zeppelin and Queen and that they killed any chance that my beloved The La's ever had in this poll........

Loveless just sounds like a bunch of noise to me. When I listened to it it gave me headache.

We're going through a very bland classic rock stretch here (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Led Zepp, Pink Floyd) although I do love A Night at the Opera.

Thought The Wall was gonna be much higher, but glad it's behind (I assume) The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here (let's go Animals as well). It's very good, but only in its best moments it can hang with the others.

One of the great things about The Wall is that if you play it and its followup The Final Cut back to back - you can hear how one sold 1 billion copies and the other one, by their standards stiffed ........and there's a lot of good ideas and things on The Final Cut but it's missing all sense of pop that made The Wall a phenomenon. You could like do a great essay comparing the 2 records, concepts and songs..........

The Clash are one of those bands where I think more of just songs and not the albums. I'd probably take their debut or Combat Rock before London Calling to be honest. But there are certainly some exceptional songs on it.

#13: London Calling - The Clash Too low.....contends for GOAT even though I'm more of American dude and Johnny Thunders called Joe Strummer "Joe Bummer" for a reason.......I mean this is more a way of life than an album

Surprising to me, I was certain it was gonna place above DSotM as it comfortably did so in the 70's poll. Incredible record, one of the best of all time, and Shine on You Crazy Diamond is quite possibly the GOAT.
