Alien and Barry Lyndon wrap up my top 5.
I tried not to be a Negative Nancy but love for The Tree of Life and Inception is somewhat puzzling to me.

Well 6 of my top 10 made the Top 50, so I'm pretty happy about that (and all but one made the Top 250). Still have a fair amount to see still, but this is a pretty nice list - even if I still don't get why The Godfather films are loved that much.

Solid top 50. I've seen them all, and though I like most of them, a few stick out as pretty absurd for an all-time top 50 list (The Social Network...good film, but really?).
Would've preferred to see Mulholland Drive take the top spot, but 2001 is, as always, a damn fine choice.

Woops, didn't know the countdown was actually going on. Good to see my two favorite movies in the top two and The Graduate so high.

-Like babygooseronan, surprised at Days of Heaven and Badlands not making it. I don't know when they stopped sucking Malick's dick. Good and bad the way I look at it, I'm between Malick fatigue and complete Malick evaluation. Maybe he was simply talked about a lot, not necessarily liked as much as I thought.
-I also agree with Ban on the lack of Fellini. I'm sure he makes it mostly because people see him as regular, and I could totally understand how people would prefer Nights of Cabiria over La Dolce vita, because the latter is really challenging and difficult.
-I guess I understand, some of these make it because they get a high placement from a few users. It's not an accurate measure, I know. I can even guess the users who voted vs the ones who I expected to have voted but likely didn't.
-Surprised at the Kubrick dominion. I know he's always been #1 honcho, but I never noticed any Kubrick fanboyism on movie awards. Barry Lyndon at 30? I always thought that that was a movie more hardcore Kubrick fans like, but it would lack votes from more common film buffs that would certainly see it at a spot way lower than 30; also most other Kubricks is at a spot way higher than where they're usually at, clearly tells something.
-The Nolan domination is surprising. I noticed the huge Nolan fanboyism here already in 4 months. But I thought the more film buff oriented users would be the primary ones voting, and they'd have more movies to name than Nolan. But he's eclipsing Tarantino; never thought I'd see the day Tarantino takes a backseat to anyone.
-Bergman > Hitchcock, according to this list. That's fine and all, I'm just surprised at 4 Hitchcocks, that's a bit irregular vs 5 or 6 Bergman. They're equal on the totem pole I know, but Hitchcock usually gets most of anything and anything ends up being a Hitchcock collection. And there's an equal number of Lumets as Hitchcock. Shocking.
-Atonement is still a movie awards craze? Hmm. Never knew it to be the type that lasts the passage of time that well, but maybe there's some other aspect I'm not understanding that makes it still a movie awards thing. What's preventing another movie of its ilk (released about the same time) from a similar situation? Considering, Brokeback Mountain's time has passed, apparently.
-I'll put down a guess that Moonlight and Carol would not make this list in 5 years. Personally, they're mediocre movies, but I'm sure some people can echo my prediction here.
-I know Lost in Translation is more movie awards than film general, but I see little to no mainstream appeal. I guess MA sees it as "indie" more than anything, but at heart it's a remnant of Antonioni and there's almost nothing mainstream about it. Judging what's within the frames solely, not any extraneous aspects which I know still can matter to people. Still don't know why Marie Antoinette doesn't have similar appeal, it's more fun and accessible. I'm just surprised LIT is this high, I just expected a bit lower I guess.
-No Bunuel, no Bresson, no Visconti, no Resnais. No Gilliam. No Cronenberg. No Verhoeven. No De Palma. No Raimi. No Jarmusch. I guess there's a trend. Very few cult heroes (i'm sure hipster oriented sites would have more from those), and very few 2nd degree classic foreign directors. (Tarkovsky, Bergman, Fellini, Kurosawa, and maybe Ozu in the first degree)
That's all. Personally, I give this list a C-, but objectively, I have more to say.

As with most movie lists, there's some stuff on here I love, some stuff I'm not crazy about, and some stuff I really wish made the list that didn't. Very pleased that Love Exposure made the cut.
I greatly prefer this list to the current IMDb Top 250.

Pretty good until the top ten. TWBB is lovely, as are the Coppolas. But ewwww at two Scorsese flicks in there. And that #1 is... just okay. I've never really understood the big deal. It is a supremely average movie. I prefer Tarkovsky's take (which involved actual characters and human drama), but to each their own.

Films I give a 10/10 that missed my ballot Psycho Sunset Boulevard Pulp Fiction
Films in the 8.5/10 - 9.5/10 range Citizen Kane Singin' in the Rain Memento Silence of the Lambs The Schindler’s List No Country for Old Men There Will Be Blood Blue Velvet
Films in the 7/10 - 8/10 range Inception The Social Network Alien Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Meh Star Wars The Tree of Life Taxi Driver
I guess when 7 of the Top 20 films in your ballot make the Top 20 on the actual list you can't really complain.
