Can Ridley Scott just digitally replace his corpse with Kevin Spacey?

Yeah, this is a rough one. One of the best. RIP Unexpected as well, because he always seemed so robust, despite his advanced years. I mean, it shouldn't be unexpected because 91 is pretty old, and he led a complete life. But sort of felt he had more years of living and first rate performances to give, because he never seemed quite as frail as his age would suggest he might. He was Canada's Greatest Actor (with respect to Donald Sutherland, who I guess inherits the mantle of Canada's Greatest Living Actor).

HOLY SHIT!!! He was a fantastic actor, and had a wonderful presence. I still have no idea how he didn't get a nomination for The Insider, he was fantastic as Mike Wallace. Watching him in things like Knives Out, you'd have no idea he'd passed away so soon. He was so energetic and spirtely at 90. RIP Mr. Plummer!

While watching "Knives Out", I was thinking how blessed we are that he is still active and still amazing. RIP. Incredible body of work, an absolute legend.

Noooo all of these legends dropping left and right. Rest in peace. My favorite performances of his are probably The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Knives Out.

I always talk about actors being "overrated" at the highest level - well Christopher Plummer is underrated at the highest level - not just a great actor but a GREAT actor. Saw him on stage and it was thrilling - he controlled the entire stage and theater.......he was one of the 4 living male Triple Crown Winners which was nearly impossible for males to pull off in the era he did it - and he was the last male to do it too. Not only could he go across material and mediums - he was full of great stories about other actors too - a real student of acting. Put it this way, Al Pacino wrote HIM fan letters and would often reference him as the actor he aspired to be - THAT'S the level Plummer was at. RIP legend

OH fuck this shit.
One of my favorite actors of all time.
I know he was old, but the world outside and the world of Jeopardy (lel) doesn't feel the same without him.

God, what a Titan. What is it, 60 years as a figure of note on the big screen? Not many can boast that. So much great and varied stuff, Sound of Music, Star Trek, Skyrim, and so many great directors, and so many great performances, and so glad he got that Oscar. Thanks for all the awesomeness.

Damn, this is so sad. He leaves behind quite a legacy though, getting 3 Oscar nominations and 1 win since turning 80.

SO hard to believe that I'm saying this of a 91-year-old but this will remain one of the most shocking and unexpected deaths this year You were one of those people we just assume would never die

I always thought of him as a man with class. He had such an enveloping charm, in his perfs and interviews, and always took the work seriously even in smaller parts or in goofy parts like Star Trek where he fittingly plays a Shakespeare obsessive - here's a man who played on stage to great acclaim Lear, Iago, Macbeth, etc and don't forget his Emmy-nominated perf in Hamlet at Elsinore ("Thrift, thrift Horatio"). He's terrifically sinister in The Silent Partner (1978) - a must see for anyone interested. And in his later years he proved no less gifted - maybe so true it was how could he ever lose it? - Remember (a great lead perf), and so many standout supps particularly Beginners. RIP
