The Queen is 75 years young today - I hope she is celebrating with a big glass of red wine and a stroll through the Parc Monceau in Paris. What is your favorite of her performances? Her shattering work in Under the Sand lives with me everyday, so I have to choose that. Charlotte Rampling by Dick Polak, Rome, 1969.

Loooove her. Under the Sand is one of my favorite leading actress performances. Didn't know it was directed by Ozon, whose filmography has really impressed me of late. And I need to see The Night Porter asap.
Happy Birthday to this Queen! 🥳

I had said this before about her but she should have been and in some ways actually is a great horror actress specifically - her look is perfectly suited for horror - smoky eyes, mysterious presence, almost otherworldly, like she knows something you cannot understand ......... if the movies took horror seriously that is. Even in things like (the deeply flawed, slightly overrated) Angel Heart - her role, her very presence adds a layer of mystery. She's played versions of this too in a lot of things - not always horror but straight suspense/mystery - but of course transcends that and can do more. The first time I ever saw her, as a young child (opinionated, bratty) in Asylum and it's STILL what I think of when I think of her and her and Britt Ekland......swoon.......they could switch roles too!

That last shot in "45 Years" breaks my heart like nothing and the moment she got her overdue first nomination was one of my favorite awards season moments ever. So that might be my favorite performance, but "Under the Sand" is close second. She had always been a risk taker (Night Porter) and still manages to impress; most recently her Volpi Cup winning turn in "Hannah" was just brilliant. Even in brief turns; from the masterpiece that is "Angel Heart" to even stuff like "Red Sparrow", she manages to leave a huge impression. I also would like to mention "Lemming" and "Vers le sud" among her more underrated performances. Happy birthday to legend! Looking forward to "Dune" and "Benedetta" and hoping for another collaboration with Ozon.

Happy birthday to a great actress, who only now is starting to be appreciated. Her performance in Swimming Pool is very mesmerizing.

Like Lynn Redgrave says in Georgy Girl about her, "I feel like a brontosaurus when she's around." Rampling always and still has an ever compelling presence and I can't wait to see more of her work. My fav perf is probably Stardust Memories bc it captures just how majestic she is..... or Swimming Pool bc I've seen it the most.... but there's Under the Sand which surely may be her best. ~HBD ~

Looking incredible at 75.I still think she should've won the Oscar for 45 years.

Loooove her in Georgy Girl (1966) where she's nom-worthy and a lot of fun as the bitchy, non-committal roommate who likes to sleep around and doesn't want to get tied down. Girls just wanna have fun!

@tyler Is it just me or does Eva Green look like a younger version of her ? They also have a similar aura. Anyway , I need to watch Euphoria (2017) ASAP.
