Originally airing on Channel 5 in the UK, now finally showing on PBS Masterpiece Theatre in the US, the reboot of All Creatures Great and Small is nothing but pure delight. Really, my heart just bursts when I watch it, I love it so much - it's a soothing balm for the soul. The entire cast is excellent, but I especially love Samuel West as Dr. Farnon, the veterinarian, Anna Madeley as Mrs. Hall, the housekeeper, and Dame Diana Rigg (in her final role... ) as the lovable, eccentric Pekingese owner, Mrs. Pumphrey.

Whoa... It's a tall order to remake this... I mean Roberty Hardy's genius as Seigfreid and Peter Davison's (Dr. Who fame) delightful effervescence! I watched the originals after already having devoured all the James Harriot books and boy did those giants did justice to their real-life characters...
How are the Seigfreid (excuse my spelling) and Tristan portrayals in this one?

How are the Seigfreid (excuse my spelling) and Tristan portrayals in this one? Samuel West and Callum Woodhouse, respectively. I really enjoy both of their performances, but I never saw the original. That probably makes a difference.

fair enough. If you like Robert Hardy, you should watch the originals after this too. The whole series is on Prime's Britbox channel and Hardy is a blast from episode 1.

I know I'm the only one who watches this, but just wanted to share that Season 3 premieres Stateside this Sunday on PBS! I'm in dire need of some British comfort viewing!
