On the one hand, I'm sad that Pop 1280 and The Hawkline Monster look to be on the back burner. On the other hand, this sounds incredible.

I'll never understand filmmakers like Lanthimos and Chazelle being obsessed with Emma Stone, she's not that good as an actress, there are so many in her age range way better than her (Ronan, Pugh, Lawrence, Robbie, Johansson, DeArmas, etc..).

Them, and the Academy, and critics, and fans, disagree with you.

I give Ana De Armas all the credit in the world for being incredibly good looking, but she has done absolutely nothing to be put in the same tier as Stone as an actress, yet. Blonde may change that, but we haven't seen it yet

So this is an adaptation of the novel by Alasdair Gray. I guess I know what I'm reading next.

She's hands down the best actress of her generation imo,Pugh and DeArmas are newcomers and nowhere near her level, yet.

Meh. I don't know why auteurs keep on hiring Dafoe, he's not even a good actor, he's just the Spider-Man guy! Lol. Get someone like Kevin Kline or Dennis Quaid, and then we can talk.

If it's Dafoe you really have to start talking about his slate of upcoming projects at an all-time level potentially - they may not all work out but The Northman, French Dispatch, Nightmare Alley, Card Counter and THIS........ Making that run for best American actor of that 80s class if the films work out and that lineup on paper is pretty overwhelming .........

Wes Anderson is the only director in the bunch I'd call close to elite, and Dafoe probably has a small role in that. Eggers is a talented stylist with middling storytelling abilities, Guillermo Del Toro may be the most overrated director in the world (even beyond PTA, who was once very good), Schrader is fine but like midway between contemporary washed De Palma and contemporary Scorsese in ability. Lanthimos has an amusing sense of humor, but that seems to be all he has. I rate him with guys like Martin McDonagh.

It's maybe the greatest hot streak of roles on paper for any actor is his 60s ever. He set to reteam with Wes Anderson on his next pic The French Dispatch and will also reunite with Robert Eggers in The Northman. Other notable credits including appearing alongside Bradley Cooper and Cate Blanchett in Guillermo del Toro’s next film Nightmare Alley, which bows this winter and is also set to appear opposite Oscar Isaac in Paul Schrader’s The Card Counter.

I'll never understand why auteurs keep hiring Emma Stone.
Trust me Yorgos, there are better and more bankable actresses out there.
