The line-up revealed. Some of them could be interesting. But it's probably more proof that Hollywood hates Glenn Close, as they paired her up with Pete Davidson . Would they ever give someone like Meryl Streep Pete Davidson? I think not. The disrespect.

The Silence of the Lambs reunion Also, Ben Affleck and Sacha Baron Cohen sounds like a hilarious match.

Foster/Hopkins and Ahmed/Yeun are really the only ones that I have any desire to watch.

Oh, poor Glenn Close. I hate her entitled Oscar begging as of late (will say she was definitely snubbed in the 80s) but to be paired with Pete Davidson? Oof, girl. I also think Carey Mulligan deserves better than Zendaya but kind of looking forward to it. Vanessa Kirby/Amana Seyfried is a pairing that feels obvious yet I'd never think but am very looking forward to now. George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer will be a classy affair. Riz Ahmed/Steven Yeun should be interesting. Jodie Foster/Anthony Hopkins reunion?! Here for it. Jamie Dornan/Eddie Redmayne It's what they deserve. Why the hell is Jared Leto even there? I know he has Little Things but yeah, that's not a contender,

Hmmmm..no Lindo or Oldman. Those look like fun pairings except for Close/Davidson..yikes..feel bad for Glenn there.

Also, Ben Affleck and Sacha Baron Cohen sounds like a hilarious match. I hope to God that Sacha Baron Cohen starts raving about how Ben Affleck is one of history's greatest method actors, and that in preparation for The Way Back, he prepped for twenty years as a tabloid punchline. "Oh Ben, when you took on the role of Batman knowing full well that it was going to be a trainwreck production, that's art, man."

Why the hell is Jared Leto even there? I know he has Little Things but yeah, that's not a contender, It probably isn't, but at least with Leto we don't know for certain yet. We do know for certain that The Midnight Sky and French Exit aren't serious contenders, yet they got Clooney and Pfieffer in there for, I dunno... A One Fine Day reunion.

Talking or having anything to do with Pete Davidson must really be a drag so I do feel bad for Close here.
Clooney+Pfieffer is pretty sexy.

"Yes, Ms. Close, we can assure you that you will have an actor of your legendary caliber to speak with about your vaunted career. Yes. Oh, hold for a second." *puts Close on hold, turns to assistant* "Did Gary Oldman get back to us?" "No." "Lindo?" "No." "Boseman? Oh wait, he's dead. Uh... Meryl?" "..." "Shit. We've already paired everyone else up. What's Amy Adams doing? She's always up for these things... what's that? She said no? Why would-- okay, fuck it. Who do we have left?" "Uh..."

My question is why Glenn would even agree to this. Is she that parched for publicity? Did she hear about Pete's dick size and felt intrigued enough to sign on?

I don’t know if the Close/Davidson pairing is disrespectful more than just being random as hell. I wouldn’t be surprised if she doesn’t even know who he is lol
Ramin Seetodeh suggested it’s the highlight of the pairings and that it’s the best idea he’s ever come up with, so I’m definitely curious now
Also love that Affleck/SBC pairing, can see them getting along great. Andra Day and Leslie Odom Jr. could be interesting with both being singer turned actors without a ton of film experience. Foster/Hopkins, Clooney/Pfeiffer are great for obvious reasons.. Leto/JDW makes sense given that Leto just worked with his father, but he’s awful in interviews. I can see that being a disaster.

I feel like Seetodeh is probably reading a shit tonne of criticism about the Close/Davidson pairing and is tweeting "It's the bestest thing ever guys" to cover his ass. It's a bit convenient that he singled that one out. Maybe he thinks it's a "funny" interview with Davidson cracking his SNL jokes or whatever, but it's still weird and feels like a waste for Close. As an actor, he has such limited experience (and talent) that a conversation about acting between him and a legend like Glenn Close is unlikely to deepen anyone's understanding of the craft. Close deserved something like the pairing of Amy Adams and Nicole Kidman.

They couldn't provide Close a Ouija board so she could talk to Boseman? Cheap basterds.. Also looking at some of Lindo's Zoom interviews..maybe they thought he would be intimidating to the other actors. When he's looking at you stone faced while you're talking could make for an interesting conversation.

Clearly, they were worried that Lindo's stare was so powerful, it would paralyze whoever else he was paired with.
