For me, I used to hate Zendaya, but that was because she starred in the shittiest show of all time. But in her slight defense, it was her first acting credit and she was just only in her teens. However, she has improved so much and now I respect her. Unlike her co-star.

Reese Witherspoon. Still don't like her much but she can be good.

I used to hate Di Caprio back in the Titanic era. For no actual reason tbh...
A few years and movies after that I came to realize how good an actor he is. Now I have to admit I'm a fan.

Don't love these guys or anything but they got me into the willing to give them a shot category:
Paul Dano - Hated him in everything, including There Will Be Blood ....EVERYTHING. Saw Love & Mercy where he's obviously nodworthy and thought to myself, this guy may be the greatest crackpot genius I've ever seen......still don't like him but now I think he's going to be an amazing Riddler perhaps and I'm excited to be proven wrong by him again.
Bradley Cooper - Who won me over ON STAGE......he was great-ish in The Elephant Man - could have easily won the Tony Award (though he was lesser than Billy Crudup was on stage in that same part)....I still say out of his 4 nods he's ludicrously over-nominated but his last film performance was his best .......and I think he may get better as he gets older and his upcoming films look legit awesome including Nightmare Alley which is a possibly, an all-time level role on paper.....maybe not for him but for somebody and we'll see if he's up to it.

Julia Roberts until Homecoming where she blew me away.
Channing Tatum until 21/22 Jump Street and Foxcatcher.
I'm sure there are many more but these are the first two to come to mind.

Jim Carrey until either Eternal Sunshine or Truman Show, can't remember which one I actually saw first.

Actually I have the opposite feeling (used to love him, now i don't like him anymore) to Joaquin Phoenix after Joker.
Used to worship him for Gladiator, Walk The Line, and The Master, now everytime i hear a new project from him (like the Ridley Scott Napoleon movie) i'm like "Oh, there we go the fucking Joker with his overacting again!!"

I won't say hate, as this a strong word, but dislike.
Leonardo DiCaprio, who I thought was outright terrible between 1996 and 2001 and still not good in Gangs of New York. From 2004 on he was great most of the time and I consider him now one of the greats of the past 15 years.
I thought Christian Bale was pretty much "useless" until around The Fighter. (I saw The Machinist, which is one of his best turns only later). Then he put in quite a good decade. Still far from great, but he can be pretty good.
Never would have thought Matthew McConaughey would be able to pull off a great performance like Dallas Buyers Club.

Similar feeling, and i realized only afterwards that DiCaprio has always been a terrific actor since his late teens-early 20s (What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, This Boy's Life, The Basketball Diaries, Marvin's Room, Romeo + Juliet, etc..)

Mathew MConaghey. I used to hate, but right now is one of the only sane actors.
Simeone who is interviewed by Jordan Peterson deserves My respect.
Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock. I respect Sandra since Gravity.
I'm not a Kidman fan, still I don't love her. But with the years I've started to respect her work. Well in fact I always respected, was more her annoying persona in the 90s. Her seccond marriage was good to her.

Di Caprio until Catch Me If You Can, which made me realize he wasn't just a pretty boy (in my defense, he's pretty bad in all his other movies around 97-02).

This mother fucker right here. I fucking hated all things Twilight and never got the hype about this guy (from 2008 -2012). Now I can't get enough of him! He is actually a superb actor and I can't wait for The Batman.

Amy Adams. She was once the actress who got all the good roles but did few of them any justice, and now she's sort of sliding into has-been territory.

Are you saying you don't hate her anymore because her career is sliding? I’m saying there’s no reason to dislike her as much because she’s no longer wasting good parts given that they’re not coming her way with the same frequency. I also turned a corner with her somewhat with Arrival.

I was just thinking how I used to kinda hate Matthew Modine for no reason.... I used to think he ruined Married to the Mob but on recent rewatch, he's the funniest thing about it and absolutely on Demme's wavelength. Also when I rewatched Orphans a year or two ago, I remembered Finney being great but forgot about Modine - probably his best perf, how he plays pathetic pride, how did I put it..... he makes weakness look dangerous. Pretty daring, not uninteresting actor in the 80s.... Birdy, Streamers..... worked with Sayles, Kubrick. I haven't seen some of his Abel Ferrara movies yet....

Oh honey, I do find Meryl sometimes very overrated, hammy and annoying... but I don't really hate her.
I'd love to hate on more actresses, I really would... but my therapist tells me I should just stay with Nicole.

It’s so funny you say Zendaya bc I don’t like her. I don’t hate her, but I think she’s disgustingly overrated and a bland actress. I’m still mad Jodie Comer AND Laura Linney lost the Emmy to Zendaya’s mediocre ass performance in mediocre ass show like Euphoria both times. Sorry she’s just exceeding extremely low expectations she set by being atrocious on Disney. She still does the same facial expressions on Euphoria too. It’s embarrassing to watch.
I do hate her fans though. They’re as bad as Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber fans. Complete psychos.
