Why does the PA's hair look more like Lucille Ball's?

It's pictures of Bardem and Kidman on set...looking fine and appropriately period. The costumes are nice I felt bad for Naomi Watts when every one was mocking the state her career on the thread for her last film announcement and telling Kidman to give her a job, so I didn't feel inclined to join in the mockery, but you still hoping the worst for Kidders every chance you get makes me slightly regret that now.

My thoughts......I think Kidman is going to be the wildcard to win the next Best Actress Oscar for this.(Almost) everyone expected her to fail in this role or saw her as miscast, even though she is one of our greatest living actresses (arguably the greatest, imho. All due respect to Streep or whomever else you might think owns that title) . Of course it all comes to to reviews (for her and the movie) and how people (particularly critics) react to her performance, but if the response is "she actually pulled it off", she'll have an incredible award season narrative.

Yes...but this time I'm saying it with a more information about her performance and confirmation that someone who has witnessed it was impressed by what he saw and believes others will be equally impressed. So I'm getting more confidence in my initial hunch. That's how this works, my friend

He has a vested interest. Yeah, he may be impressed in the moment with her, and maybe she is really great . . . but it's all going to be how it translates through to the screen. And I think Best Actress is set to be an absolute bloodbath this year.

Especially when Hale isn't even in the middle of promo for this film, so he doesn't really need to say anything at all about Kidman's performance at this stage. I'm gonna assume he's being legit about how he feels. Obviously, he won't be the final arbiter of whether it's an Oscar worthy performance or not, but at this stage, with many months left till the film arrives, we work with whatever info we get. If info arrives that contradicts Hale's opinion, then that becomes something to consider. But this is all there is for now.

And I think Best Actress is set to be an absolute bloodbath this year. Yeah I also feel like a lot of actresses in contention could have the “she actually pulled it off” narrative, and right now I’m not sure who will be the most impressive. Besides Kidman there’s -Kristen Stewart who a lot of people outside of cinephiles still see as the Twilight girl, so if she could pull off being one of the most iconic people in the world especially with the narrative of Harry and Megan naming their child after Diana and escaping the Crown because of what happened to Diana, I can definitely see her going all the way. I think out of the three top tier critics, she’s already won two of the big awards, so I can definitely see her winning something big again if she pulls it off. -Ana de Armas who is also playing another icon, and she has the narrative of overcoming her natural accent. Not to mention she has so much heat now because of Knives Out and how in the pandemic, her love life became sort of a reality show on social media, so I could see her fitting the mold of an “it” girl winner that we haven’t had for awhile but could become the trend again. Plus early word on Blonde seems really good, so she’s another one that I could see taking at least one big critics prize. -Jessica Chastain as another iconic person albeit not as famous Princess Diana or Marilyn Monroe, but mostly people were very positive and excited about the trailer. I also saw many comments on how they liked that it seemed Chastain was switching things up because in the last few years she’s become typecast as a certain powerful lady type whose all no nonsense and has no sense of humor or warmth. -Jennifer Hudson doesn’t have the transformation factor of the others, but it’s been ages since she’s been in a role where she received significant kudos especially since she her last movie was Cats. And to go from winning an Oscar to not even being nominated or really in the running to be nominated at all for 15 years could be a big narrative for her. Not to mention the fact that out of all the potential Best Actress candidates with the “she actually pulled it off”, Respect will likely make the most money besides maybe House of Gucci, but even then I could definitely see Respect coming out on top. -Lady Gaga may not be playing someone nearly as well known as all the other Best Actress possibilities who are playing real life people, but I think there’s a lot of doubt there which is fair. She looks the part, but there’s a lot of concern that maybe A Star Is Born was a fluke because she was playing a pop singer and sang for a lot of it. Then there was that video of her with the accent that got mocked, so if she pulls it off it could be huge for her especially as she’s not exactly in the same lane as the other possible Best Actress nominees playing real life people because of how her character is more infamous that famous among other things. Unfortunately Kidman won’t have the Globes to help her; although to be fair this also potentially hurts the others since I could see Stewart being one of their favorites someday, and everyone else is at least a former Globe nominee. Of course Kidman is a favorite of SAG, but it could be a bloodbath with so many possible best actress nominees playing real life people. With BAFTA, I really don’t know with their new system, but I feel they’ll go really independent for the most part so I don’t see her happening there either unless she’s the overwhelming favorite, but it’s too soon to say who that will be. So either the Critics Choice becomes really important except when they nominate like 7 or more actresses to try to be right, or perhaps a new award show if one is able to be put together in time, or the top tier critics when it comes to having some influence on who might win Best Actress. I’m guessing it will be the latter again along with box office, and right now I could see Kidman just getting a SAG and Critics Choice nomination. Can she still win with that? Of course, but this year I feel it could be another wild year since there’s no Globes and many favorites are going to miss BAFTA again and whether they can overcome that or not.

Of course, but this year I feel it could be another wild year since there’s no Globes and many favorites are going to miss BAFTA again and whether they can overcome that or not. All valid points. I don't see De Armas as a factor to win. Michelle Williams has already recently been nominated for playing Monroe, and even with the accent factor, a sexy actress playing another sexy actress might not seem like a big enough challenge to award the big prize. I see her as a nomination threat at most, and again, she'll have to overcome the same role being recently nominated. Stewart may have to deal with comparisons to Emma Corrin, who just won the drama Golden Globe for playing Diana in The Crown and is a real threat to win the Emmy. So she has things she needs to overcome as well. Some people may think if we've already just seen a perfect Diana on one of the most popular TV shows in the world, why should we be bowled over by Stewart? I can't see Hudson winning another Oscar for another role where she is playing a singer. And it felt like an admission of weakness to push back the release of Respect because of the similarities to Viola Davis in Ma Rainy's Black Bottom and Andra Day in The United States Vs Billie Holiday. Another thing that stops me viewing it as a potential winner. Not to mention Cynthia Erivo being in contention for TV awards this year for the same role. Hudson has a lot going against her. Most of the contenders you mention have their pluses and minuses, even if their performances "deliver". Kidman is at least helped enormously by Aaron Sorkin, who is an Academy favorite, and is coming right off the back of The Trial Of The Chicago 7. Plus, she is comfortably the most respected actress in this bunch. She would have an "overdue for a 2nd Oscar" narrative to work with, alongside the "I can't believe she pulled it off" narrative. It's all speculation for now, but Lead Actress definitely seems like it'll be a fun and interesting competition

Tony Hale did not say he was "massively impressed" by Kidman's performance in the Insider article that was posted. It's sad that people see the need to manufacture quotes to drum up excitement for their favorites. All Hale said was: He basically gave equal praise to Bardem and Kidman, but I don't think anybody is going to predict Bardem to win an Oscar based on Hale saying he did a "fantastic job".

I still won't fuck you dude Not sure why you're so obsessed with the prospect of fucking me. It's not like I have Denzel's Dreamy Hairline. But enough about your sexual fantasies, this is a thread about Being the Ricardoes and you've derailed it enough with your sexual perversions.

LOL, all I did was point out that you weren't being honest in your representation of what Tony Hale said. You said he was " massively impressed" by Kidman's performance when he literally did not say that anywhere in the article you posted! So which is it? Did you make that part up because you're a shameless stanboy, or are you a delusional loon that sees things that aren't there? It has to be one of those two things. Now I'm starting to think you actually have Delusional Disorder and you're bringing up this sexual nonsense just to distract from your mental illness. If so, you have my sympathies and I hope you seek medical help for it
