She's fighting the patriarchy and the systemic racism by blowing their heads off with a variety of guns........um.......in a casting idea whose (possible) bad judgment can only be comparable to the time I got the expensive vegetarian platter at an all you could eat steakhouse.
................premieres after the Super Bowl (February 7th)............. in a decision whose (possible) bad judgment rivals.........well you get the idea.......

I wasn’t really interested in watching it, but my thoughts seem to be a lot different than pacinoyes’s lol. Like I thought it was cool that Queen Latifah was in something again, and I do feel like she’s someone while not mega famous has built up a fanbase through the years from her music career to her talk show to Living Single to Set It Off to Chicago to Hairspray and so on and on.
As for premiering after the Super Bowl, I’m not sure what would be a good fit because CBS whether fairly or unfairly in my mind is the network I think of for mostly Chuck Lorre sitcoms and procedural shows that have like a million spin-offs. I guess they could go with NCIS, but maybe they feel that the ones on now don’t need that kind of big boost, and that another spin-off of it would definitely be overkill.
Other than Young Sheldon, which I already saw promoted as being on after the Wild Card Game today on Nickelodeon, I don’t think anything else would have fit more and/or would have been better to promote. Like I could see The Price Is Right or Let’s Make a Deal fitting since they’ve been doing night versions this season, but it seems like a waste of the after Super Bowl audience to not try to premiere a new show. I guess maybe a special versions of The Late Late Show with James Corden doing car karaoke with the players would go viral and draw in an audience, but that would give him an even bigger ego.

Are you ready pacinoyes ? Seriously though my Twitter feed has been nothing but ads for this today, so I’m looking forward to it finally premiering.

Pretty meh but watchable enough. Seems pretty clear how this show will go. Might continue with it for a bit.

Um, yeah this blew.....made me think back to the glory days of action master (sarcasm) Antoine Fuqua's ..... Equalizer 1 & 2 - oh wait, didn't like those either .....might end up being a hit but to me it was an icky gooey morass of laughably preposterous action and goopy drama. Chris Noth - who once played Walter Cole in American Buffalo a role played by Pacino, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Duvall (and John Leguizamo, um) for Godsakes must be wondering how it's come to this.

Why the fuck would anyone go out of their way to hate watch this?
Just based on the central casting alone (I like Queen Latifah in certain things, but she doesn't feel like the most ideal casting for a butt-kicking CIA trained vigilante, for me anyway), reviews would have to be something extremely strong (or I'd have to be really bored with nothing else to watch) for me to give this a go. Otherwise, I say just let the people who this is aimed at enjoy it in peace. I have no more interest in giving this show a kicking than Batwoman on the CW (I'm not watching that either). Or Bridgerton (Not my kind of show ordinarily, but at least the reviews and critical reception are standout enough for me to maybe give a watch at some point)

The only thing I know about this show was that it was on practically every commercial break during the Superbowl.

The only thing I know about this show was that it was on practically every commercial break during the Superbowl. It was pretty intense with all of those commercials .........it's very much a CBS show though so people who like their anti-crime type shows/brand might dig it, it fits in with a whole block of CBS shows.......I like the original show a good bit - in some ways I actually love that original show with Edward Woodward. The recent movies and this reboot ...........not so much.......both are really removed from the original and sort of just use the name......but wouldn't be shocked if this does find an audience (maybe).

First I'm hearing of this but I really love Queen Latifah. I watched the CBS show as a kid and the movies are pretty good. May give this a go but there's so much TV and so little time.

I guess I should have expected it since it’s on CBS, but I foolishly thought it wouldn’t be so much like all their other procedurals. It wasn’t exactly terrible just because procedurals are usually at least watchable imo, but there wasn’t really a hook to draw me back. (I was too lazy to change the channel after the Super Bowl, and I just left it on so I could watch the news after.) Queen Latifah is fine, and her two sidekicks were cool, and I’m guessing they’re setting up a romance between Robyn and the cop who knows something weird is going on, or her and Chris Noth’s character. It made me really miss the original, so I guess that’s something. Perhaps I’m being too nostalgic, but it seemed like it and other shows like Wiseguy on CBS were at willing to be a little “weird” or different instead of so cookie cutter like all of their procedurals seem now.
