Over fifty years of consistent good work. I still have to see much of his most acclaimed work, but he was very good whenever I saw him in a film, from Bande a part over Une histoire simple up to L'etudiante et Monsieur Henri just a few years ago.
RIP

I just watched Dirty Like An Angel (1991) which has a really great first half (like '70s Alain Corneau) until Catherine Breillat stomps on our engagement with it and draws out an uncomfortable "romance" - but anyway, Claude Brasseur stars and he's great as a nearly retired, ailing inspector who's sort of scarily desperate and he plays it smart, angled away from his own dangerous ability. He's quite believable as this cop around Paris, and as the movie goes he shifts down his charisma into something creepy and vulnerable. I looked him up and hadn't realized he passed away so recently. RIP. I've seen Bande à part and some I don't remember him in like Barocco..... Anyone have fav perfs?
