A little early but it's the 15th in Japan already, um......Wide Released today December 15th, 1995Not merely the long-awaited face off of the two GOAT American actors but also - when they made it - both at a career peaks (maybe not their overall peaks - in the 70s but ........). Heat cemented their acting statures - together and alone - and remains in its director's vision, its look, and the complexity of its script construction tremendously influential too.

Strong contender for my favorite film of all time. Certainly one of the films that I think about/talk about/reference the most, and just one of the most perfect pieces of art I know of. Somehow gets better every time I watch it, too. Will absolutely be watching tomorrow for the anniversary

One of the greatest cops and criminals films of all time, if not THE best.
A real classic.

The movie is bloated, and the ending is weak. The Town and TDK are superior children. Hell, I enjoyed Blackhat more than Heat.

Respectable genre piece but it's not my aesthetic. Too many stony-faced dudes to care about.

I want a remake or a film in the vein of Heat with Leonardo DiCaprio and Joaquin Phoenix in the two lead roles (i'll let you decide who plays who) NOW.

Still a masterpiece & has aged like fine wine. Also still features the greatest shoot out in movie history. Mann is a genius director!

It's always funny when pompous braindead dipshits call more artistically cultured people "children" and forget something as simple as the fucking COMMA in their put down. You are truly too stupid to even troll successfully. 😆 I think you misread that sentence. I was referring to the films as children of Heat.

I used to love these kind of trailers that you don't see much anymore where they fawn over the actors instead of just showing the movie to us.....goosebump inducing trailer this is.

For those out there who referenced the "children of Heat" - here's GQ's top 9 of the Heat homages and it's a pretty uninspired list imo tbh which may make Heat like a great Rock band that inspires a lot of less inspired work............. with the exception of The Dark Knight which should have been number 1 (finished 3rd)........... American Gangster is ridiculously missing here - I have some problems with that movie but I do like it and it's way more like Heat than many of these......... The Town was number 5, Widows number 1 and the best homage Quai des Orfèvres with 2 legends - the French DePac - Depardieu and Auteuil missed this list also, wtf.... www.gq.com/story/heat-movie-robert-de-niro-al-pacino-michael-mann-homages-ranked

I just watched this for the first time yesterday (heresy I know) and I think it’s wonderful. Obviously it’s a perfect cops and robbers film that is a technical marvel, but I was more impressed by it as a portrayal of two broken and emotionally unavailable men and how they find a temporary, but meaningful connection with a kindred spirit.

Didn't they already have one of these like in the past 3 years? 2016 w/ Chris Nolan iirc - which may have been an Oscar Academy related event maybe.......... These kinds of things stir up excitement for the film festival(s) themselves though so it happens from time to time.........I mean really if you think about it - there's only like 25 great American movies anyway Kidding..........sorta

The funniest thing is Taylor Swift and Michael Mann in the same url, while having nothing to do with each other in that event.

De Niro talks about Heat @ Tribeca, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Ray Liotta........ pacinoyes hot take: Heat is a masterpiece and arguably isn't in either actors top 5 films. Discuss. Great actors are in great movies......filmography matters......yadda yadda .......
