Anybody watching Ted Lasso? The second half of Season 3 is really good and an improvement over the first half. None of the cast members have confirmed this is the final season of Ted Lasso. Apple has not renewed the series — that’s the big thing. I suspect this is going to get Breaking Bad treatment — a spin off series. Personally, I am fine with this being the last season. Go out on top and leave before the series loses its freshness. I agree the 2nd half has been a lot better than the first. My biggest issue with this season is that it was planned to be the last one and they wasted a lot of time on introducing new characters that were then dropped and didn’t have enough influence on the relevant storylines/characters to justify the time spent on them. Now the resolution to other character arcs feels very rushed.

There should have been less story lines involving Keely's PR firm, and more Nate the Great. Nick Mohammed is so good in the show, and I "loved" how they developed him.
I am hoping for a Beard Spin off. What they revealed at the end of Season 3, Episode 11 (No spoilers), begs for a larger story line.

Just finished watching Ted Lasso, Season 3, Episode 12. Really good episode. I am suspicious of this being the final, final Ted Lasso episode. Apple labeled it the Season finale, not series finale. My criticism of the season 3 still stand, and the finale didn't really tie those up in a ribbon. I think we're going to see a spin-off.

Finale was good but I didn't care for most of the season. The extra long episodes really made it drag.

just finished S3 and agree with the criticisms about the episode lengths, pointless new characters, and writing in the first half, and Roy and Keeley were kinda spinning their wheels all season, but the second half and especially the final two eps were enough to compensate for the season's unevenness. And even in the weakest eps ("Signs", "We'll Never Have Paris") there was always something to balance out the flaws, which is something you can't always say about S2's weakest moments.
Not the redemption arc that Maisel S5 was but it still ended on a very strong note that was a return to the first season's emotional highs. I ended the show feeling glad I watched it.

Dunster was good and I'm happy he finally got his Emmy nom but I preferred Brendan Hunt and Nick Mohammed this season, and Goldstein really didn't need another nom for this character.
Sarah Nile strikes again. Pointless Emmy guest nomination, and I loved Harriet Walter back in S2 but she has one tiny scene this season and really didn't deserve that nom either. Becky Ann Baker and Sam Richardson were amazing though, glad they both got in.

We know that the Season Finale is up for directing and writing, which makes sense. It's probably the strongest episode of the season. "Sunflowers", "La Locker Room Aux Folles", "International Break", "Mom City", and "So Long, Farewell" were easily the best for me.
My best guess:
Sudeikis - "Mom City" Dunster - "Mom City" Waddingham - "International Break" Goldstein - So many great ones, but I'll go with "La Locker Room Aux Folles" Temple - Not sure. Maybe the Paris one.
Hunt and Mohammed should have gotten in as well.
My only big criticism of Season 3 is how little they incorporated Jeremy Swift into the season.

I'd like to think Waddingham submitted the ep where she shacks up with the hot Dutchman Mom City and the finale were definitely my favs too but there were only a couple eps I'd call weak, and like I said earlier even those had their moments (Temple's acting in the Paris ep for example). S2 had some really weak eps IMO, and even worse a weak finale. If I had to boil my S3 criticisms down to a couple things, it'd be that I don't think Roy changes enough this season or has emotional breakthroughs to rival what we've already see from him, that they spent too much time introing new characters like Jack and Zava that ultimately didn't matter, that Keeley didn't have much to do, and that Nate's redemption arc felt a bit underbaked (I can't believe they didn't even show him quitting). But *most* of that is fixed by the last couple eps, and the ending was so good and cathartic that it makes the issues I had with the season matter less.

Sudeikis - So Long, Farewell Dunster - Mom City Waddingham - International Break Goldstein - La Locker Room Aux Temple - We'll Never Have Paris.
All five consistently killed it this season. If Hunt got nominated, I think he would have picked the Season Finale (Thong & Plane freakout). Great picks. Whenever the Emmys are, I think Lasso is going to win big. The season was imperfect, but I think the highs of the season, were really high. The Bear is probably its closest competitor.
