There has been a request to push this back to March or even April. I'm not wild about delaying it so much, but if it will help get more and better ballots, it might be worth it. I'd like to know what you guys think. I'd be fine with it, but only if it forces people to actually watch more than the usual suspects. Some of the choices the last few rounds have been (not to put too fine a point on it) rather basic. Eh might as well just do it, the thing about consensus awards, they tend to skew towards the center.

If you pushed it to the end of this month, I would probably send one. I don’t usually send ballots for nominations but I could in this case.

I hope I'm not the only one holding this up. I promise to use the time to strengthen my ballot. There's about 20ish movies I want to see including a couple rewatches. Might not get to them all but I've already started. Saw 24 Hour Party People a couple days ago (didn't care for it unfortunately) and Panic Room today, which was pretty damn good.
If there's anyone else holding out on submitting a ballot, please check these out! All or Nothing Secretary The Magdalene Sisters Frida Hero The Quiet American

also my song lineups are pretty sad. Got "Gollum's Song," "Hands That Built America," "Burn It Blue" (from Frida), and "Something to Talk About" (from About a Boy). Also have those two Bryan Adams songs from Spirit as alternates if it comes to it but I can't say I'm much of a fan. Perused the 2002 song awards and they're pretty ass. Madonna? Nickelback? Get outta here... Hope I can find at least one more good one before the deadline.

Or maybe I'm just insane and the only person who laughed his way through all those songs, I don't know. Goldmember is also the best Beyonce song

Yeah, The Magdalene Sisters is a movie that needs to be watched. Nora-Jane Noone and Geraldine McEwan for nominations! Don't forget Eileen Walsh. The whole cast is great, but I think Walsh's performance resonated more with me. Her last scene is especially devastating. But yeah, if I had to choose only one 2002 film to FYC, it would be this one.

Fixed mine. I didn't know Y Tu Mama Tambien was going to be 2001. I had it as 2002 because that's when it was Oscar eligible.

glad you watched Frida first. Hope it can swing production design/costume nods at least though Hayek definitely deserves one too.
