Obviously an awful year .......so list some things in the culture that made it awful for you (don't say "pacinoyes" and his posts smart-asses! ) .............. or that you're sick of - and that you would be quite happy to see go the fnck away even short term in 2021............person/trend or idea..........anything you'd like to go away with the upcoming change in the calendar............. again maybe not permanently - I'd love my last one to make a comeback ...........but we need some time apart at least Donald Trump - Obvious but I really think I heard more about Donald Trump in 2020 than any other year - and that's really saying something...........and people keep saying "he's not going away" ......... even when he's not President.....everyone needs a withdrawal from you nutjob Mel Gibson - I like Mel and think he's pretty good in some of these movies but Force of Nature I rated a 4 (one of the years worst)...... Fatman a 5......and Boss Level a "less than 6.5"....... that's 3 thumbs down movies despite my affection for much of Boss Level ......no one ate up more of my movie time less satisfyingly than Mad Mel in 2020 ............even if it's not his fault. Take a break buddy..... Stacey Abrams - Former Governor of Georgia (sarcasm) - who has been elevated to political royalty particularly after Biden's win in Ga ....she's insanely disingenuous and weirdly makes me think I may want Republicans to keep the Senate in January (um) just so I can see her take a loss..... Bob Mould - I've said this before but the legendary front man of my beloved Husker Du made one of his most acclaimed records (EVER - an 84 on Metacritic, wtf) - for a tuneless, obvious, politically surface level record that has none of his unique worldview, humor or smarts ........and I played this a lot in 2020 - it gets worse each time. As the old expression goes "I used to love this guy........but right now I hate THIS guy"

People actively seeking out things to be offended by and 'cancelling' others for them.

I sometimes dog on him and other Z list celebrities (Randy Quaid, Scott Baio, James Woods, etc.) who start spouting crazy stuff because it’s so easy, but hopefully they’ll be ignored next year because that’s a lotworse for them then getting attention even if it’s negative. A big YES to this!!! I always feel like I’m too old because I just don’t get it. I guess one could argue that successful influencers have some talent to get people to follow them and do stuff for them, but back in my day at least we had actors, singers, or comedians and what not that had talent of some kind that shilled products. To be fair, I guess I’m not totally anti-them because I’ve watched some of their videos or liked their Instagrams or whatever, but the wannabe influencers are the worst. Like there was this big thread on my local Reddit because a wannabe influencer bought a Jeni’s ice cream cone, had someone take a picture of them holding it for social media, and then threw the cone away. I guess they can technically do what they want with the cone since they paid for it, but that seems like such a waste and sums up why I’m generally anti-influencer. Anyways also a big YES to anything to do with Trump or his supporters. Don’t want to hear about him or those around him unless it’s about how they’re all going to prison. As for Tom Brady, normally I’d be all for him being out of the spotlight, but who would have thought that this year it would be because I think he needs to retire and not because I’m sick of him always winning but because it’s finally his time.

Whenever I see people complaining about 'influencers', I just picture the old man yelling at clouds meme. Yes some of them are trash (Jake Paul for example), but you can't just lump them all in together. They've found an easy (legal) way to make a shit ton of money, so more power to them. We're not in most of their target audiences anyway, so just ignore it.

Kylie Jenner, for example, is the quintessential idea of what an influencer is. Personally, it just feels like someone having a gross contempt for their fanbase imo.

whole-ass articles in my newsfeed about goddamn celebrity tweets Even worse, one thing that drives me absolutely crazy that I feel like I hadn’t noticed before this year is news articles reporting on Instagram comments and Twitter @ replies. “One commenter wrote...another person said...but these people disagreed by saying...” I feel like this was Buzzfeed’s domain for awhile and mostly limited to pop culture stuff but I’ve seen major news networks doing this now with real stories. Is this supposed to be the new “man on the street” interview, just copy-pasting the top comments? Terrible.
