Probably the last great gangster film Hollywood has produced imo. Not a fan of The Irishman. Depending on your definition of "gangster film." Drive (which I think counts) will not accept this slander. The Drop, Killing Them Softly and The Town as well are all great in my eyes. Hell, I think Live By Night is underrated as all hell.

Hmmmmmmmmm...Drive was cool for sure, I like Drive. You have a point, I guess when I hear the genre term Gangster film I think of The Godfather films or Scorsese's Crime/Gangster films and American Gangster is kind of in that classic rags to riches gangster film/story. I liked The Town too but I always associated that as a heist film like Inside Man.

Denzel has been nominated for Best Global Actor for The Tragedy Of Macbeth at The Golden Jasmine Awards, which takes a global perspective on choosing it's nominees, as opposed to the primarily Western or European perspective we are used to in Award shows. Denzel is nominated alongside 4 Other actors from China, India, Philipines and the United Kingdom. The nominees for Best Global Actor are: Denzel Washington- The Tragedy Of MacbethBenedict Cumberbatch- The Power Of The Dog Yi Zhang- Cliff WalkersSuriya Suvakimar- Jai BhimJohn Arcilla - On The Job ( The Missing 8)

At first I thought the PTA thing sounded made up but with the same details popping up in different blind items IDK. Hopefully it works out, it sounds like a good movie, made up or no.

Even I get caught up in PTA drama, but I'm like "What's the last movie of his I gave a shit about?" Punch-Drunk Love. If I'm being real, I don't think Leo will ever be in one of his films.

Oh I think there's a good possibility PTA and DiCaprio could make up for Dirk Diggler and work together in the future.

I think it’s almost a certainly that PTA and Leo will work together at some point.

Quite fitting. He should have won the Best Actor Oscar as well, but a nice consolation prize to get recognised in a true international field of actors.

Happy Birthday to one of the very best American actors of the last ~ 35 years......Ed Norton wants him to play one of the parts in a movie he's got an idea for btw “It’s much more related to your first question, which is, what would you tell your younger self? ‘If I knew the time that things take,'” Norton said, teeing up to explain where he’s been and why we’ve seen him less in the last twenty years. “I’ve got a lot of stories in my head that I want to make into films. I’ve got a really good prison escape drama that I’ve literally written in my head. I know it, I want to get to it, I want to write it, direct it, I want Denzel to play one of the main parts in it.”theplaylist.net/edward-norton-wants-denzel-washington-to-star-in-his-prison-drama-has-written-a-lewis-clark-miniseries-20221227/

Yep, by choice. It was a hologram acting in St. Elsewhere.

Yep, by choice. It was a hologram acting in St. Elsewhere. Denzel has said many times that while he was grateful to get cast on St Elsewhere for financial security for his young family, he never saw it as anything other than a paycheck job near the beginning of his career. He knew his role was just to be a dependable supporting player in a soapy hospital drama, and was always plotting to get out of the show to make movies. Unfortunately TV was very much seen as a 2nd rate option for actors when he was on St Elsewhere. So yeah, he's very old school and never rated TV and only saw it as a stepping stone to get movie work and put food on the table. There's amazing prestige TV these days (so I think he should reconsider how he views TV), but quetee is correct that he doesn't give a shit about the Emmys and he doesn't seem likely to ever chase the kind of TV role that would get him an Emmy (St Elsewhere was never that role).

Well, I ignored St Elsewhere. Haha. I think Denzel would be open to TV if he wants the project done or if director he trust wants the project.
I don't see him going to Netflix though....he seems like he would go to Apple.

Austin Butler thanks GOAT Denzel for basically being the guy about to win him an Oscar in his Golden Globe Best Actor speech .
At this stage, what Denzel has done for younger actors is becoming legendary. If they don't simply just look up to him, he's given them material help or advice...Butler, Chadwick Boseman, Glenn Powell, his own son etc

Probably the last great gangster film Hollywood has produced imo. Not a fan of The Irishman. What a coincidence. ScruddyPuppy's sock puppet account over here (which likes over 90% of his braindead posts, look it up yourself) agrees with The Emperor of Dumb Cuntville about yet another thing. You're no good at this, pumpkin. Have to pretend as not to make it obvious...and obviously PATHETIC.
