I haven't seen this movie, but I'll still hold that Jamie Lee Curtis was robbed.

all the love for Master and Commander and LOTR and the two wins for Dogville make the Shattered Glass snubs worth it So many of these picks are on point

It's a solid winner, but I think it would have been a lot better if the first two chapters worked for me. Jackson's grandiose leanings find their footing in this most grandiose entry, whereas he seemed like an overeager fanfiction writer in the first two movies. At least in RotK his kind of big dramatic flourishes fit the tone.

love M&C and ROTK, but the number of threads made lately about 2003 and Korean cinema has me kind of shocked that they were entirely ignored. Most of these were my 2nd or 3rd choices. Not a lot of 'spreading-the-love' going on here. If a LOTR movie were to win the big awards it'd have to be this year given the seemingly muted adoration the second one gets compared to the trilogy and Fellowship having Lynch to compete with.

Damn fine results save for Murray (he's fine but there were much better choices), but damn, the taste jumped out with all that Master and Commander/Dogville love.
