Alright everyone!
Here we are in Eighties! Funny haircuts, lots of fun, right in the Reagan era. Who's ready to make a list?
I need a list of your Top 25 movies from this decade! Any film that received its initial non-festival theatrical release between the dates of January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989 will be eligible. If you aren't sure if something qualifies, please ask below and I or someone who knows better can respond.
A tentative deadline, I thought, could be mid-January, right after the holidays. Does January 17, 2021 work for everyone?
Of course, post as many FYCs as you want. I need them too!
Ready, steady, GO!

Awesome! .......... Dekalog counts? Good question! I would say that it doesn't count as a whole, to me it makes more sense to vote for single films of the Dekalog. What do you and the others think?

Major FYC to what'll be my #1 Jean de Florette/Manon of the Spring - also think we should consider them as one movie, as it was a single production.

Don’t think this will be ignored but adding an FYC for my likely #1.

Literally just starting to work through the '80s, so I'll wait until closer to the deadline to send you a proper list (if you don't mind reminding me wilcinema !) In addition to the ones I posted yesterday : Landscape in The Mist, L'Argent, In The White City, The Sacrifice - a couple more to add........the 80s are clearly where non-US films dominate for me at least.......

Major FYC to what'll be my #1 Jean de Florette/Manon of the Spring - also think we should consider them as one movie, as it was a single production. They were a single production but separate releases which I believe is the ultimate decisive factor in this case. I consider them two separate films, like I do the LOTR movies also.
