It’s a dire situation whichever way you look at it; the fact that it’s this close tells you everything you need to know about the state of the country. I’m just glad we won’t have a adderall filled raving lunatic in charge whilst the US attempts to repair itself from the damage he’s done these past 4 years. My head hurts just thinking about this madness. This has been a four year long migraine. Ugh. My concern is the aftermath will not be pretty. Trump will not go gentle into the good night. I mean, this shouldn’t be surprising to any of us considering he’s literally been saying for months now that if the election is not in his favour, he’s going to throw a hissy fit and bring the supreme court into everything and demand recounts for all states he loses, which in his warped mind would probably be all 😂. But it doesn’t make it any less....not just concerning......but absolutely fucking disgraceful on every level imaginable. This guy is the biggest man-child I have EVER seen.

I think there's a decent chance Biden accepts the results tonight if Nevada is called - that 271 - I really don't think he has to (or should) wait for a recount in Wi or challenges (Mi) when he's at 270+
NV is at 75% now ........

Pretty confident a decent amount of trump supporters can be convinced this election was stolen regardless of whether it actually was or not. Trump is the only guy in America with a cult of personality around him necessary to pull off something like a power grab or coup but I don’t think it happens. If republicans are smart and Biden is announced the winner, they’ll just say fuck it and move on, prep for 2024 instead of going with the failed election interfere/fraud playbook for 4 years. The people’s vote doesn’t matter and they know it, the democrats know it too. If they did cheat, just cheat harder than them next time

Difference being is he could bully people and get his own way back then.....not fucking happening this time, especially in such a historic election.

Being a bonafide cheater is the only reason why he has gotten this far in life and the fact that NOBODY checks his ass. Mitch is the next one that has got to go. If I saw him on the street........... I would make the 10 o' clock news. I can't stand him. The transition is not going to be a smooth one you just don't act like an evil bitch for four years and then expect to hold hands in a circle with everyone.

I meant that the republicans post trump had to cheat harder and not necessarily trump himself, not that it invalidates any of what you said. That still stands of course. The republicans don’t need trump anymore. They got 3 Supreme Court seats, filled a bunch of seats on the lower courts and kept the senate which means no packing the courts or any crazy far-left ideas for at least 4 years The republican establishment never liked him and now his services are no longer needed. That’s why they’d be smart to just let this slide if it was indeed a fraud and regroup for 2024. They’re not in a bad spot and playing the failed election fraud playbook for 4 years could hurt them Shit they could even try to force a 269-269 tie, let the house elect Biden as president while the senate elects pence vp and just wait for Biden to croak

How does Susan Collins survive btw? Unfortunately there are a lot of people in Maine who still fall for her "phony moderasm", and think that electing a Republican Senator is a check on Biden's balance.

I believe NV would bring him right to 270, right? Which would give him the win, 270-268 (if he also loses PA, GA, NC, and AK).

well after giving me a panic attack, VA went with Biden by over 9 points (almost double Clinton's lead) which is relatively close to the polling avg. I think the same thing happened when I was watching results in 2016. VA is weird because most of the state is red and on-the-day gets counted first so the results always look really wonky until results come in from Fairfax and the other nearby northern suburbs which swing the results heavily blue.
Proud of my state today, disappointed in most everyone else.

Pennsylvania 6. Illinois 7. Michigan 8. North Carolina 9. Ohio 10. Georgia Over half of these could be going to Agent Orange - I get that the Electoral College forces us to look at states in this binary way, but I just don't think it's the right attitude to have and leads to even more division.

Ideally, I'd have states going for an electoral vote by district (54 different districts for California, for example), but that would just make gerrymandering worse.

Martin Stett - I think the vast majority of Americans would prefer for us to just go by the popular vote... This would already be over if that were the case.

If this is indeed the series finale, I'm expecting the murder hornets to swarm the "stop the count" protesters like the eagles at the end of Lord of the Rings.

NV and AZ look pretty safe for Biden right now...but having PA and GA also flip blue would just be heavenly. No room for dispute with a 306 electoral count.

The country was designed to be represented by districts, though. I understand the popular vote, but the purpose of the electoral college is to allow areas that don't have enough people to "matter" to have a say. Let's say that... I dunno, a small town is getting poison into the water of a smaller one. The smaller one would have no say in a popular vote setting. Obviously not a great example, but my mind isn't working right now. That said, there are no good options. Popular vote is likely the easiest route.

Ideally, I'd have states going for an electoral vote by district (54 different districts for California, for example), but that would just make gerrymandering worse. I'd go for a proportional electoral system that still looks at state-wise voting so districting doesn't come into play. So for example, since Trump currently has 32.9% of the vote in California, he would be projected in this system to win 18 of CA's 55 electoral votes. Obviously this system is still not without flaws - ex. if D.C. went 51-49, one candidate getting 2 of the state's 3 electoral votes is still not truly representative but we also can't have electorates giving half-votes - but it would at least make every state feel considered to minimize concerns of only the swing states really mattering in the current system or the coasts deciding every election in a straight popular vote system.

I will say that if Biden wins and there isn’t much shenanigans, or even if Trump pulls it off and there isn’t much shenanigans, it’ll have been a very anticlimactic end to this storyline of 2020. While I expect Biden to croak, I don’t expect it to happen before 2020 is over. The people want and expect chaos. The people want the 79 days of hell as foretold by the prophet jones

This is an amazing stat - Joe Biden - if he wins (and he will) will be the first Democrat elected President since 1884 who begins his 1st term without a majority in both the House and the Senate (assuming the Republicans do indeed hold the Senate which it appears to be the case). It is far more likely that Joe Biden will be the first President since Richard Nixon in 1968 to arrive in the White House without a Senate majority – and the first Democrat since Grover Cleveland in 1884 not to have full control of Congress.capx.co/the-democrats-have-won-this-battle-but-biden-will-be-a-lame-duck-from-day/

How many days this is gonna drag? We are dealing with a man who sued Bill Maher for making a joke about his parents being an orangutan. Then when Maher doubled down on the joke and said, I will give anyone five million dollars to prove that his parents are not orangutans, Trump sued him and provided his birth certificate and then wanted the money. LMAO. This ain't over anytime soon.
