Oh shit.
I was like WHAT??? when I heard this.
Gotta take the cake as the worst celebrity death this year. No disrespect to Kobe, but his contributions doesn't come close to what Connery has done for us in the last 60 years.
Also, didn't realize League of Extraordinary Gentleman was his last film. In 2003 it was one of first films I ever saw in theaters. I saw maybe like 9 films in theaters before LXG. Such youthful memories.

Well that's some sucky news today. Our time all comes, and 90 is a grand old age to get to, but I'm sure his family would have liked a few more years with him.
Simply put, Sean Connery was one of the greatest movie stars of all time, and a very fine screen actor. His charisma, swagger and presence could be near unmatched and contributed to him making James Bond one of the most iconic characters in film history. The fact that he was able to break out of potentially career killing typecasting as Bond, and forge an amazing career outside of his biggest role (including winning an Oscar for The Untouchables) speaks for his talent as an actor and his appeal as a star. He'll be missed, but what a wonderful body of work he's left behind
RIP

Besides all the great roles people will mention here, I always would have liked to see him play the Michael Caine role in Dressed To Kill (1980).
He was offered that role, wanted to do it but was committed to other things so it went to his The Man Who Be King (1975) co-star. Would have been something to see him subvert the Bond persona like that imo.

Wow, that makes me so sad right now!! I don't have his JimMalone role as my nickname for nothing. It's one of my all-time favourite performances and I'd place Sir Sean probably among the Top 5 greatest actors ever. I think I nominate him more often than nearly every other actor, aside of Paul Newman and Al Pacino.
Such a huge, huge, huge loss to cinema, even if he didn't do any films in the last 19 years.
RIP James Bond

Wow, one of the great movie stars is gone. Connery was an incredible lightning bolt of charisma, and an excellent accent. While he was best known for playing Bond, he also managed to surpass the famous role and become an awesome older actor in his elderly years. Rest in peace Sir Sean you'll be missed.

Watching A Bridge Too Far in his memory...
Also fitting since he and Michael Caine were best friends.

RIP to an absolute legend and great actor (also still remains the best Bond ever). He lived a great/long life. Kudos to him for giving us so many good performances. My favorite being him playing Indiana Jones' dad in The Last Crusade . He will be missed.

RIP to legend and a boss. I loved his screen presence. Granted, he was easy on the eyes too. I enjoyed watching him on screen and I will miss him. Thanks for the movies.
