Have any of you guys seen this? What did you think?
It's quite distinct from the '68 film version - the actors (particularly Close, who is excellent) make the characters their own, and I think the original text lends itself well to the television format. The luxurious medieval trappings are to die for, as well.

Once again (iirc) Close the only American in the entire cast..... She was Sir Patrick Stewart’s first choice for the role! This had long been a passion project of his.

In the first 5 minutes of this video, Henry Cavill talks about auditioning for the part of (I'm assuming?) one of the three sons in The Lion in Winter for Stewart back in 2003 - a really sweet story and Sir Patrick seems like such a gentleman.
