Obviously hoping for the Yankees but I don't know that anyone can stop Houston this year.
Also worried about the Twins with all the firepower they have and our somewhat questionable starting pitching. Bullpen had better have their arms ready.

Yankees got the brooms out tonight. Should not have doubted them. We own the Twins.

Well. That was embarrassing. Now tied for the most consecutive postseason losses in the history of the four major sports.
Hopefully Pohlad will at least make a run at Gerrit Cole rather than pull the normal bullshit. Highest Free Agent contract in Twins history was Erv Santana, 3yrs - 45mil.

Not sure who I want to win the Astros-Rays series. If I could pick I would want the Yankees to get revenge on the Astros for 2017 on the way to winning the WS. But I know we would probably beat the Rays while the Astros will be pretty tough.

LOL, if the Astros lose we can all look forward to a 28th New York Yankees world championship. Otherwise ALCS is the real World Series. Was honestly hoping for a classic Yankees-Dodgers series though. Yankees-Cardinals would also be pretty classy. The Cardinals do always seem to pull of weird October Voodoo like in 06 where they aren't that good in the regular season and then get on a roll, though.

I predicted a Dodger-Yankee WS with NY winning in June lol EDIT: I lost money 2 consecutive years by taking LA in the WS. Happy to see their asses out.

I'm still demoralized by the Astros loss in 2017 so I don't know what to think. I was sure that team was going to win it that year coming down from 2-0 in the ALDS and then with the big comeback in game 4 against the Astros, it was like the 90's teams. The top of their starting pitching is just too good it's hard to imagine them losing a playoff series although I guess the Rays are trying. This Yankee team has been pretty incredible winning 103 with all the injuries too, if they'd stayed healthy they could have made a run at the wins record.

After this series, you never know what could happen. The Dodgers had 106 wins, but they're the Dodgers. I would love to see a repeat Astros-Yankees. I think that they could get their revenge, but not with Verlander pitching. It has been amazing what they did with a wounded roster.

I think I am taking Houston and Washington in 6 each. Houston might sweep the WS.

That went as well as it possibly could have gone. Tanaka is always going to be inconsistent over the course of the regular season after that injury but he is such a boss in the playoffs. Not changing my prediction, this is the ideal pitching matchup for us so I thought we'd win it, but we needed this one to have any chance.
Great to see them attack the bullpen with 4 runs in the last three innings. That's going to be the key to victory with their great starters.

This thread is turning into my Yankees postseason diary so I'll keep it going.
I viewed this game as gravy going in but it ended up being a golden opportunity to steal one with Verlander pitching.

After four scoreless innings for NY, I turned the TV off but then quickly tuned back in after they tied it in the 9th. Guess I should have left the TV off after all... so many wasted opportunities to get ahead this series with men continuously left on base.
While the Yankees have no one to blame but themselves for their loss, the umpire for this last game was pretty garbage.
