Revisiting the '70s recently, I took notice of how many great films he worked on as well as how great some of his own work was too (especially Taxi Driver). R.I.P. to a great.

Damn. His work with Scorsese really did make all the difference, and frankly, I think Richardson and Prieto never came close to evoking what the Michaels (Chapman and Ballhaus) were able to do with him.

Oh man this death hurt more than I expected. His work was understated yet extremely powerful and striking with Taxi Driver being a landmark achievement. It’s cinematography snub will always baffle me.....just an absolute disgrace. RIP
