I don't get the huge elation over this year, named by many to be the #1 of all time. My 2nd least favorite year of the 70s with 1978 as my least favorite.
Could be because I don't care for most of the classics this year. I'm not that big on Jaws or Cuckoo's Nest even if they make my top 10. They're good, but neither are the classics they're often named among.
Barry Lyndon pretty much destroys the rest here. And The Mirror destroys the others. Past #3-5..... I'm having a hard time coming up with more movies. And Lead Actor is also underwhelming. The other categories are good tho.
Best Picture
1. Barry Lyndon 2. The Mirror 3. Love and Death 4. A Boy and His Dog 5. Jeanne Dielman 6. Jaws 7. Hard Times 8. India Song 9. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest 10. Shampoo
Lead Actor
1. Laurence Olivier - Love Among the Ruins 2. Jack Nicholson - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 3. Gene Hackman - Night Moves 4. Al Pacino - Dog Day Afternoon 5. Tim Curry - The Rocky Horror Picture Show

1. Charlotte Rampling - Flesh of the Orchid 2. Isabelle Adjani - The Story of Adele H. 3. Marie-Christine Barrault – Cousin Cousine 4. Louise Fletcher - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 5. Glenda Jackson - The Maids
Supporting Actor
1. James Coburn - Hard Times 2. Robert Shaw - Jaws 3. John Cleese - Monty Python and the Holy Grail 4. Alan Arkin - Hearts of the West 5. James Woods – Night Moves
Supporting Actress
1. Ann-Margret - Tommy 2. Isabelle Huppert - Aloïse 3. Hanna Schygulla - Wrong Move 4. Lee Grant - Shampoo 5. Karen Black – Nashville
