.......but yeah sounds more annoying post-Irishman than it would have before it ........ EXCLUSIVE: Robert De Niro, Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker and John Malkovich are set to star in Wash Me in the River, a drama that will mark the second directorial outing of Randall Emmett. Emmett, who just restarted production on Midnight in the Switchgrass after halting five days in because of the pandemic last March, has a week left to go. He will begin production on Wash Me in the River November 9 in Georgia and Puerto Rico.
The Wash Me in the River package becomes a hot title in the Toronto Film Festival marketplace. An action-thriller in the vein of No Country for Old Men, the Adam Taylor Barker script focuses on a recovering opioid addict who seeks revenge on the dealers responsible for selling the drugs that resulted in his fiance’s death. Two cops are hot on his trail. deadline.com/2020/09/robert-de-niro-colson-machine-gun-kelly-baker-john-malkovich-randall-emmett-directed-wash-me-in-the-river-1234572557/#comments

Really pessimistic about this. De Niro's record in the past few years is bad, Malkovich's is even worse and Emmett is NOT a director...
Really looking forward for the De Niro/Blanchett project and Killers of the Flower Moon to begin production...

Some of the stuff he'll do looks promising Killers of The Flower Moon Armageddon Time Gucci The first two I'm excited about. I dunno why he keeps doing stuff like that with Machine Gun or War with Grandpa. Gucci, I don't see this happening. Not with Pacino and him at least.

Why is Machine Gun Kelly in everything now? Eminem beat him so bad he had to switch professions.

Emmett is the worst, a guy in the biz for the sport of it, whose personality is like the kool-aid man meets teeball coach. He's the kinda guy who live-instagrams every hour of his life. And this year apparently he's been on a dozen episodes of a reality show. De Niro and Pacino, you're in good hands.

Scorsese's Silence and The Irishman. Everything else is absolute dreck. Wonder what the hell Scorsese sees in him.

Underrated af Jack Huston joins..... EXCLUSIVE: Jack Huston has stepped in to play the male lead in Wash Me in the River, joining Robert De Niro and John Malkovich in the Randall Emmett-directed action drama.
Taylor Kitsch exited the role, this after agreeing to replace Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker. The action-thriller is in the vein of No Country for Old Men. Huston will play a recovering addict who goes Man on Fire toward every drug dealer he thinks might have played a role in his fiancée’s death. Two cops are hot on his trail. Huston had a celebrated turn as an assassin in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire.deadline.com/2020/11/jack-huston-wash-me-in-the-river-taylor-kitsch-exit-robert-deniro-john-malkovich-1234615352/

Man, they're really trying it with those No Country for Old Men/Man on Fire comparisons. Stay tuned for the inevitable Heat comparison.

They actually lucked out with their third option being Jack Huston, a good actor. De Niro, playing Sheriff Church (good god!), currently filming in Puerto Rico.....:

Furla/Emmett were the co-CEOs of MoviePass Films And two months ago the WGA put them on a "Strike List" for companies that, um, haven't paid their writers. Idk why actors get involved with them... De Niro's here maybe as a favor for w/e they did for The Irishman. While they definitely suck (still boasting on social media about flying private jets).... they did produce Boss Level....

Yeah this blows........Jack Huston has made a white trash on dope film waaaaaaaaaay better than this "Above Suspicion" with Emilia Clarke in a sexy, great-ish female lead performance - 24% on RT ....free on TUBI.......see it if you're curious....it's a sleeper.....
This movie has Willa Fitzgerald opposite him and her storyline and how it's handled sabotages the film - it goes wrong when things go wrong for her.......and then later goes wrong again......but until then it's ok, and she is better than Huston actually......then the wheels come off .........directed in a music video kind of way that undercuts all the acting choices and drama with some WTF?!? choices like showing the first "murder" twice - as the opening and then again in full....
Much of those choices undercut the drama and suggest that they needed to pad the movie........the ending is preposterous, blashphemous and hilarious all at once......
