Had one eye on the Yankee game at first but I watched the whole thing once it got going.
Some people are criticizing him but I wish we could just elect Chris Wallace president after this. Trump was like a hyperactive five year old who didn't take his medication, you can only keep him from talking so much.
Trump started comparatively well but he deteriorated throughout. Calling Biden dumb and the swipe about cocaine just make him look petty and dumb. The soliciting "ballots" thing was incoherent word salad. The riot segment was where Biden could have gotten killed but I think it was his strongest segment, both due to pointing out the crime increase is under Trump's watch and that he's been riling up. Trump tap dancing around the white supremacy question once again also undoes whatever little good will he built up with his relatively stable behavior at the beginning.
He obviously still has supporters, but I really don't see how anyone could support Trump if you see him like this. He clearly had no idea what he was talking about the bulk of the time and resorted to personal attacks and outright nonsense passages to try and bluff the audience instead.

Trump is acting even more like a small angry child than usual. I don’t know how anyone watching this can come away with any positive opinions on him. Yeah, I say Biden won because there's no way he pleased neutral or undecided voters.

Biden needs to not be so submissive. He didn’t have any big gaffes though, which is great. The expectations for his ability to debate are so low that he arguably exceeded them. Trump came off as a whiny bitch. Although the anger he displayed is great for his base. I don’t think either of them did a good job at moving undecided/independent voters, which you could possibly view as a win for Biden.

Yeah, I say Biden won because there's no way he pleased neutral or undecided voters. Agreed. Trump leaned into his base which isn’t wavering their support from him. Doesn’t make much sense. Bad look for Trump.

Biden was absolutely humiliated. There were SO many opportunities for him to corner Trump on certain issues and he totally flustered, whilst rising to Trump's deliberate provocation. The main failure of this debate isn't the lack of civility, it's that this won't swing people on any of their positions - it's just a circus for our amusement now. I've always contended that the problem with American political discourse is that people vote based on personality over policy and this was yet another embarrassing example of that. Joe has the charisma of a wet plaster, he's blew it.

Trump repeatedly shooting himself in the foot isn't going to do him any favors, and he isn't going to be winning over anyone who isn't already in his mindfucked base. Biden is the safe pick. That's been the narrative since spring and he can literally say nothing and that would remain true because Trump is his own worst enemy.
Haven't watched the debate and the feedback convinced me that I don't need to waste the time. Can't be bothered to engage with this nonsense. The polls will say who won or lost.

early polls not good for Trump: CBS/YouGov: - 48% say Biden won, 41% said Trump (so roughly a reflection of the national polls) - 92% of democrats say Biden won as opposed to 82% of republicans saying Trump won - Trump's personals take a hit... 42% say they thought worse of Trump post-debate as opposed to 32% saying the same for Biden CNN/SSRS- 60% said Biden did the best job, 28% said Trump did - 65% thought Biden's answers were more honest than Trump's, as opposed to 29% for Trump - 69% thought Biden's attacks were more fair, compared to Trump's 32% not expecting to see too much change in the national/state polls. Maybe a slight temporary uptick for Biden but nothing major. Debate was probably a wash, which isn't a good thing for Trump who needs to extend his outreach beyond his base and improve his numbers, and he's really not doing that.

Yup...........Here's how bad it really was: Biden - told the sitting President of the United States to "shut up".......he "shushed" him:.........called him a "clown" AND a "racist" .........literally said he won't answer questions - IN A DEBATE - (wtf) then said that Antifa is "an idea ...........not an organization" (yeah ok)......... and HE seemed like the relatively stable and reasonable one.......

To offer the alternative view of Biden being at least equally terrible: the whole thing with Biden straight up refusing to answer questions on the supreme court, refusing to denounce Antifa - Trump's dancing around the topic was a bit more palatable, because he at least made the point that the white supremacists aren't starting violence and told Proud Boys (who I don't know much about, but it seems like conflating the two is a bit much) EDIT: oh wow... ewww.....uh, I retract this statement.[END EDIT] to "stand down" which is more than Biden's "Antifa is an idea" bullshit - and rarely giving any plans about what he would do if president... all of it was politician denial and dancing.
Trump, on the other hand, just screamed like a toddler. The current debate system needs to go. It's all about personality.

Trump brought his mask to the debate. Beautiful. I suggest next time could some techy person design a muzzle-like mask for him to wear, please. Signed EVERYONE.

Antifa is the GOP's favorite boogeyman to bring out whenever black people are protesting but there's no evidence that it exists in any kind of organizational capacity. Biden said exactly what FBI Director Chris Wray said two weeks ago -- it's an ideology not an organization. FBI has also totally discounted a credible threat of mail-in voting fraud but that's not stopping Trump and Trump shills from running with it.

I don’t get why people are complaining so much about this being a shitshow. Like yea it was a total shitshow, but what were you expecting? I tuned in to this debate and got exactly what I came for. This shit was hilarious. The only thing this debate was missing was Biden having a stroke on stage, for a second there I thought it was coming toward the end of the debate. The fact he went the whole 95mins with no breaks and didn’t completely malfunction is a win for him
Trump could’ve gone at him harder. For example when Biden brought up his son, instead of pretending like he doesn’t know who he is and asking which son, he could’ve acknowledged beau, said he was a great kid and that it’s disgusting that Hunter preyed on his wife while his corpse was still fresh
After this shitshow, why not do the joe rogan debate? You’re not gonna get a normal debate with these 2 no matter what steps you take to try to get these retards to follow the debate rules
