Better Paul Newman's late career performance after 60: The Color of Money or Road To Perdition??
Vote and comment.

Good poll....... Road to Perdition blows to me .........an all-time overrated film imo.
I will take Color of Money here - because it's hard to do justice to a role you've already done and when that much time goes by too and convincingly pull it off. He's kind of "perfect" in Road To Perdition - the only thing I like in that movie at all actually .....but a lot of it is off his gravity and presence and as a performance I think it involves a lot less.

Road to Perdition.
He was fine in the Color of Money but that was Bob Hoskins Oscar!

Road to Perdition. He was fine in the Color of Money but that was Bob Hoskins Oscar! This. Newman was a great actor, but he had so many more performances more worthy of an Oscar than a so-so retread of his far better work in The Hustler. It's fine as a nostalgia trip, but nothing more. He was superb in Road To Perdition. Gave the weightiest performance in a cast of much younger heavy hitters ( Hanks, Law, Craig). It's not close between this and the other performance.

Road to Perdition is one of the great supporting performances of all time, so I'll go with that. However his turn in Nobody's Fool (1994) was even far superior.

I think Road to Perdition is barely mentioned in the conversation, especially among the crime genre movies of the 21st Century. I think it's an almost forgotten film. Which is why I'm surprised at least for now is winning this poll. The Color of Money is a more popular and better film, and it's Paul Newman's last great leading performance.

R2P for me.
He should have won an Oscar many years before he actually did but not for TCOM.
Much better in R2P. Subtle yet intimidating.

You make me regret making this poll. It's clearly The Color of Money.

Road to Perdition for sure. If we're just talking nominations, he was also fantastic in Nobody's Fool and either of these two performances would have been a much better win.
