I can’t believe I’m doing this. I’m seeing this Monday. This is probably the ONE movie to get me to risk my life by coming back to theaters.

The actual mortality rate for young people is likely so small that a car- or bike-ride to the theatre is probably more risky than the performance itself - for you at least.

Metascore is 69. *81% This film’s rewatch value is insanely high. No doubt an overwhelming experience on first viewing (even for the most ardent Nolanites) but it’s designed to be picked apart meticulously as time goes on. Flawed? Of course. Ingenious idea and Nolan in full LSD/Acid mode? Fuck yeah. What he’s pulled off here is nothing short of staggering.

Booked my ticket for tonight!!! Back in a movie theater after about 7 months, although tonight I'm seeing this in a summer cinema. Even though the reviews are worse than I expected, I'm still very excited!!!

I loved it!!! Action packed, great plot and music, excellent choreographed scenes and photography...
Definitely needs a rewatch as soon as possible, as there are many details that I need to clarify in my mind but overall it was an amazing movie experience.
I'll give it a 8/10. I'm confident that when people (including me of course) fully grasp it on rewatches, will appreciate it more.

Yeah, I loved it as well. Sure you could lay it out on its weaknesses (which there are quite a bit of) but its visual marvel more than makes up for it. People can argue all day long how innovative Nolan's movies are on a conceptual level, but where he unquestionably is so is in his execution. Some of the action scenes in this are just astounding. And Ludwig's score is just a banger. I have it at 8/10 right now, but I'm gonna rewatch it in next week.

I’m a high risk case (asthma, diabetes, heart problems all rolled into one), so I have to be very careful when I go out. Anyway, I’ve seen it now, so it’s done. And I’m gonna need some time to mull it over. Can’t decide if I’m put off by the film’s aggressive reliance on exposition and erratic location jumping, or if I’m in awe of the film’s (mostly) successful high ambitions and pure epic spectacle.

Haven't seen the film yet, so I haven't actually looked at this diagram closely because of spoilers, but it's supposed to be an attempt to map the characters through time and space over the course of the film. Thought I'd put it here for anyone who's seen the film (and also so I can come back to it later lol):

God what a ride! After a certain point I stopped trying to put pieces together and just enjoyed the ride. Someone said it's a visual spectacle and I wholeheartedly agree. Insanely entertaining with some crazy action scenes. I couldn't help but be in complete awe of the technical aspect of it. The plot, I still have to mull over some things and it definitely will help over a rewatch but nevertheless I found myself enjoying the hell out of it. JDW is a great Nolan hero and so is Pattinson. And Branagh hammed it up like there's no tomorrow and I loved him for it. Definitely a must watch for Nolan fans at least.

For the record, I strongly dislike Inception and have been hugely critical of Nolan's 2010s output (aside from Dunkirk which I LOVED and considered a major return to form), so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.
On the one hand, I vastly prefer Nolan's usage of time travel over his usage of dreams. The overall concept of the film, while predictable, is AWESOME. The idea behind time travel in this movie might be my favorite version of time travel I've ever witnessed. The action set-pieces are STUNNING, much much much better than I anticipated and some of the best of Nolan's career. There's an Inception hallway fight rip-off that I personally liked ten times more than the Inception hallway fight, and I was utterly blown away by the prologue. When it comes to the set-pieces, Nolan is in top form...
...which only highlights just how SHOCKINGLY terrible the movie is anytime it's not in action mode. There are long stretches here that feel even more amateurish than the worst qualities of The Dark Knight Rises. Critics of Nolan will find so much validation for their viewpoint in basically every scene of dialogue here. The script is LAUGHABLY terrible. I mean, straight up laugh-out-loud AWFUL. It feels like a DTV B-movie that should star Dolph Lundgren intercut with some of the coolest action sequences I've seen in years. John David Washington is FUCKING HORRENDOUS in this movie. Nepotism incarnate. I will never watch another movie where he's the main character. The worst leading man performance I've seen in many, many years. The other leads are either competent in a nothing role (Pattinson, Debicki) or hilariously over-the-top (Branagh, who feels like he's starring in an installment of Rainier Wolfcastle's McBain). I expected all the typical Nolan annoyances (lazy exposition, horrible dialogue, total lack of punch to emotional payoffs, pathetic one-dimensional characters that serve no function other than explaining or moving along the convoluted yet undercooked plot), which are all here in full force and much worse than in previous films, but there are many places throughout Tenet where I legitimately could not buy into the reality of the film because of how inept everything was, from the script to the direction to the performances. I remember constantly thinking, "This feels like amateur hour, like an out-of-his-depth student was given $250 million dollars with no oversight after pitching a surprisingly cool time travel concept." I felt like walking out multiple times, but stuck through it for the next action scene, which almost always paid off in spectacular fashion.
So yeah, a really fucking weird mixed bag for me. 5/10

I liked this a lot. It continues Nolan's trademark of concept heavy stories, but minimizes most of the shortcomings of his previous sci-fi works. It's similar to Inception, but with the more minimalist approach of Dunkirk. Basically, everything in this film, from the characters to the set-pieces and action scenes, serve only to enhance and commentate on the concept. The tone is cold and detached, driving the focus away from the characters and only onto Nolan's take on time-travel. That is what Nolan wants the audience to focus on, the characters are only instruments to serve his ideas. And that is the main reason I found this so much better than Inception or Interstellar, as he didn't even try to add any forced sensationalism in this and try to make the characters appear more realistic or human, even though that wasn't their main purpose. The only drawback is that Tenet is full of exposition as well, but it is mostly placed through vague statements than outright spelled out from A to Z like in Inception, so I guessed he improved on that department as well. All in all I thought Tenet was a very interesting film and it's definitely among Nolan's best work. - 8/10
