RIP. And apparently he put out a memoir in March that's gotten some rave reviews? Sad I didn't find out about it until he died... but now I'm excited to read it.

The most modified and re-released great album ever - or maybe just the greatest album ever period Released in 1977, re-released as L.A.M.F. Revisted, then L.A.M.F. The Lost 77 Mixes (my personal fave for now), then "The Definitive Edition" ......... and now The "Found" '77 Masters ........out in a limited small run vinyl only for now....... CD full release coming later this year (targeting October)The video clip sounds slightly different and great but I don't know if it tops ALL the other versions but maybe - the video explains the history and what happened to find this and it has great photos / quotes .......this sounds less in the red than the Lost 77 Mixes .......... you can hear slight differences halfway through until the end........ - Archie , Joaquim , Viced , Mattsby www.lethalamounts.com/magazine-index/2021/6/24/lost-and-found-tapes-reveal-classic-johnny-thunders-the-heartbreakers-album-as-originally-intended
In 2020, Jungle got hooked up with Daniel Secunda, the co-producer of L.A.M.F., which led to a dive into Secunda’s personal archive, housed in an attic. Among his holdings they found, on two partially labeled reels, a copy of the L.A.M.F. master—the Heartbreakers Holy Grail!

Another track and on this one you really do hear the difference - scuzzier and way less "in the red" and less clean and punchy than The Lost 77 Mixes which is (was?) the "best" existing version of this classic.....the background guitar is far more noticeable making it sound like a different version not just a different mix......the instruments bleed into each other more in a good way .......
That also holds for "All By Myself" - but not quite this dramatic - you can find that one on Youtube .....so far this seems less like a polished studio recording and more like a "live in the studio" run through of the material - less touch up on the vocals too and more organically "band" sounding......which may be definitive if the other tracks follow the same pattern and don't vary.......

Ok, I'll give this album a listen tonight - I have my buddies copy so if anybody gives af about my 2 cents on it I'll post my take in the last album you listened to thread after football or something tomorrow AM - here's "It's Not Enough" - again this sounds live in the studio rather than a slick "album"- Johnny's voice is way up in the mix now with no effect on it.
Pretty spectacular and again these sound like a whole different takes not merely the mixes - a noticeably less intricate and direct take..... way less "in the red" and blow out the speakers loud .....

Out TODAY - the album in this "Found" form is also on Youtube for a listen - like I said in my review of this act of bad-assery and problematic heroin addiction - some won't notice too much of a difference anyway........some will .......but it's genuine history either way..........hear it again for the millionth time .......for the 1st time
