Just rewatched The Trouble with Harry on Tuesday, and it may be the funniest film I've ever seen. "You never know when a dead rabbit may come in handy!"

I always say he's like The Beatles of his genre - the way the Beatles are mimicked (verse/chorus/bridge/vocal patterns etc.) STILL even if you don't think you're ripping them off, well you are. Well with Hitchcock's camera angles, pauses, cuts, use of light and shadow - that is all still mimicked today, even if you don't think you are, well you are. Following Kim Novak, with the descending twists......like Vertigo itself ........

One of the greatest directors of all time and of course a personal favorite!!! We should have a festival for his bday. Just realize that none of his movies are on Netflix??? In my country, I think only Rear Window and Vertigo are on Netflix. That's something, anyway.

My favorite director of all time. The Wrong Man, Vertigo, North By Northwest, and Psycho is hell of a four film run.

At worst, say he had a great 5-film run. *good point by comicman. That run from Rear Window thru The Birds.. 1954-1963..... is pretty sick. To Catch a Thief and The Man Who Knew Too Much aside.... those 10 years are the stuff that makes a career.

At worst, say he had a great 5-film run. I love The Birds too, but most people put film runs in fours not fives, so I was just trying to be specific. If I wanted to go further, I could say his run from Dial M. For Murder to The Birds is my favorite of any director, period, as I happen to at least enjoy at least all the movies he made during that period.

It appears the only Hitch movie on Prime is To Catch a Thief. If you guys want, we could even have a watch party one of these days.
