is it just me or are miniseries the thing now? There have been so many high-profile limited series this year, way more than last year (or am I just paying more attention this year).
I guess prestige miniseries are easier to make than prestige shows. This has really been an off year for new shows, but then I guess last year was too.

I think television has been heading in that direction. It’s basically the equivalent to filming a long movie so they can attract high profile stars, it’s not looked down upon by peers like doing TV used to be, ratings and awards are strong, and you can usually attract a high profile director or show runner also. I don’t know if NBC, CBS, ABC, etc... will push away from their models of hoping to land a long running success like Grey’s Anatomy or ER or Lost, but they’ll probably throw their hat in the limited series rings for their streaming services.

The first episode was very intriguing, reminded me A LOT of Midsommar.I don't think this show will be for everyone but I'm definitely going to stick with it.
