"I'm not going to be ignored Dan." Balls shrank up when that line was uttered. I think she does better work in "Liasons" but this is the role she will be remembered for. And she is Fantastic in her one season of The Shield.

Yes, she was fantastic in this but better in Liaisons.

Watched this last night. Film was entertaining and at times genuinely unsettling, though it went out on such a dumb, ruinous end note. Close, however, was fantastic as the increasingly deranged Alex, playing her more as a deeply troubled woman in love rather than a cartoon villain - even though the film ultimately decides she is just that.

The alternate ending is better; I can understand why Glenn Close preferred it:

Close is fantastic but I thought the movie overall was mediocre. But that alt ending is great! Much better than the undead bath shooting scene. I was half expecting the wife to destroy the tape at the end. That would have been wicked (though, also kind of extreme/random).
