Holy shit. Stephen and I were on his twitter an hour ago enjoying these options for his wrestling name:
Big staple of my childhood and always a welcome presence. RIP.

RIP Mr. Brimley. He was a damn fine character actor. I was still shocked when I learned what his age was in real life.

Aw man, I remember actually getting to work with him during a symphony orchestra concert I was performing in for Memorial Day a few years ago. One of the pieces we played was dedicated to the flag raisers of Iwo Jima and featured spoken text that Brimley narrated live on stage with us. I didn't actually get to talk to him, but it was still a cool experience.
RIP

RIP Mr. Brimley. He was a damn fine character actor. I was still shocked when I learned what his age was in real life. God he was so good in The Thing and yeah he was only like in his early 50s when he did Cocoon. I honestly thought he was a lot older. He willl be missed.

Fucking legend.
IT AIN'T FUCHS is one of my all time favourite movie quotes, and I am no longer able to say diabetes correctly. The man changed the form.
He is also the one who should have been nominated for an Oscar for Cocoon.

He is also the one who should have been nominated for an Oscar for Cocoon. SAY IT AGAIN FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK. Also, if we all treated coronavirus like Blair treated the infection, we'd all be doing just fine now.

My whole childhood was watching Bob Barker give prizes to people between bouts of being told about Medicare by Wilford Brimley.

They guy was incredibly underrated. One of the most underrated characters actors ever probably. Oscar-worthy in The Natural as the crotchety no-nonsense coach and probably in Absence of Malice too where he stole THE ENTIRE SHOW in one fuckin scene. Legend. Can't wait to discover more of his work. Had a good run. RIP sir
