How did this thread die? A genuine one - and a great single too - unlike the way that "one hit wonder" term is often (mis)used - and describes bands that are f'n major and transcend the "one song their mostly known for" ( The La's, The Only Ones etc) People still think this is Bowie or something

Its recent appearance in a Super Bowl commercial reminded me of Reckless Eric's "Whole Wide World", one of the great songs of the initial punk era, which is pretty much all he's remembered for today, although I've heard a few people say his album is good.

MAR's hip, glue sniffing kids always blah blah blah on and on about the stupendous The Exploding Hearts - RIP - but their exact, tragic story happened earlier to the band For Squirrels - who had 2 members die in a crash at around the same time in their careers .......they cut a pretty good album (Example 1995) with their own stupendous single - Mighty K.C. about Kurt Cobain's suicide. A very eerie, haunting early REM-ish sounding song that's even sadder because of the accident and its chorus "by the grace of God go I...." (hint: this is even sadder if you actually believe in God, or you know, "anything" - just sayin') ......their college-radio hit - it is still maybe the best song ever written about Cobain ........and there are a lot .........heck REM wrote a song about Cobain too yanno........
