I really wanted to like this film. It had a lot of potential .The premise was good, but they didn't got to do something interesting with it.The film is just marred by plot holes, cliched characters, tacky dialogues and hands down the most inadequate music possible for this film.
It's still a passable action film if you are a fan of both Charlize Theron and Matthias Schoenaerts and/or have absolutely nothing else to watch.
5/10

Thought it was just ok. Felt like they were just focused on setting up for a sequel. Matthias was good though Yes , he usually is but even his solid acting couldn't save this film.Gonna go and rewatch THE MUSTANG instead.

I liked it.It's no masterpiece but it had a more interesting premise than most action movies.I'd be up for a sequel.

Would have worked so much better that way. That being said , I'm still up for a sequel (hopefully , we'll see some improvement !).

I haven't seen this but didn't realize Luca Marinelli was in this also ........said this before obviously but keep an eye on him - he's one of the worlds most interesting young actors - cashing in on a ton of Italian films for big directors - he's got a Volpi Cup (Martin Eden) and a Donatello with big directors across wide genres in Italy - he is sort of an Italian male Adèle Haenel (but not THAT good ) where you can cast him in almost anything and he's already made his entry into American projects too.......Marinelli is 35...his upside is huge. I expect he's going to have quite a decade ......

very TV series premiere-like, in look and content (and not in a good way, if that's not clear already)...ugh, this was pretty bad.

This was the least entertaining entertainment I've seen in a long time. Not that it's actively terrible - it's just aggressively mediocre. Humorless, unimaginative, visually ugly. To see the reviews that it got is to see how American film criticism has deteriorated. It's insane how so many well-made and exciting action movies of the 1990s got trashed by critics because they were seen as damaging to the mainstream film industry while these days bland shit like this gets praised.

So basically, this is like if someone saw Hancock and said, "Let's build a franchise around the Charlize Theron character, except instead of marrying Jason Bateman she is a generic commando."
Some of the stunts were nifty, but that's about it.

When the credits rolled I said, "How cute, this thinks it deserves a sequel." Some of it was well shot and the makeup and effects were aces, but I couldn't get invested in most of the characters and the stakes felt really low. Whole thing was just going through the motions and I saw this 24 hours ago and barely remember anything about it.

Only reason to watch this snoozefest is Charlize, Luca and Matthias. My imagination was the one doing the heavy lifting here....

One of the blandest films I've seen. As others have said, it's a surprisingly low stakes films (and the plot never once became engaging) but despite that, there's a million ways to make a more interesting film based on that premise than what we got. It's also completely free of any good set pieces. Charlize Theron, who can do so much better, is at her worst on complete autopilot and no one else turns it up either, apart from an underused Luca Marinelli. The horribly executed sequel bait at the end is done more poorly than imagined -- like rarely I've seen so little effort put into such a major film.
The only scene that didn't flat out suck to me is the flashback from the witch trials.
Wish I had stuck to me gut and not resumed watching after initially turning it off after 10 minutes.
Honestly cannot believe the reviews and word of mouth this is getting.

I’m pretty sure the sequel is already green lit. And I’m guessing this got huge viewership so it’s likely justified.

I don't know what's going on, as they can pump out decent to very good TV series with ease, but these Netflix original movies are so consistently lousy. The only ones I actually liked have been The Meyerowitz Stories and Buster Scruggs.

The film takes it's silly yet interesting premise way too seriously. This could've been a fun filled action adventure instead it was an unnecessarily meandering exercise in nothingness. There's hardly any plot in here. It's just heroes trying to save one of theirs. That's the B-plot, where's the A plot? They should've been given some cool and exciting mission while Dudley Dursley doing his schtick. Cast is good and some stunts are fine but they couldn't save this.

You would be correct. I read that Netflix paid Ryan Reynolds $27 million dollars for 6 Underground. That is insane. Anyways, I kinda liked this film for the most part. Theron and the rest of the cast worked well together , along with some cool action sequences . As others stated though, it did take its self a bit too seriously though.

-What's your name?
-Everything hurts.
These lines Charlize says both in this and Fury Road. That I caught.
I feel she got a grand hit in her hands and tries to repeat it, by producing this blandness. And to think I got excited for its premise at the start. Yeah, not a fan of hers. She had a good moment which I felt her character's age, but all in all the whole thing is ultimately garbage.
You are Charlize though, hence I'll keep an eye out.

I had a notification that you liked my post in this thread and it took me a ridiculously long time to remember what this movie was.
