It's a new poll, with a simple enough idea: if there are multiple nominees from the same movie in the same acting category, we hold the poll. Poll will be open for at least 24 hours. DUEL #6 WINNER20-13Farmiga got off to a huge lead from the start, racking up seven votes before Kendrick got one. From there, it was all catchup. MATCHUP #7VS.

Don't especially care for either, but Adams doesn't overplay her big moments as much.

I always say this but Amy Adams is the worst in this part I've ever seen and I've seen the play ~20 times including regional theater from actresses that have day jobs ......her goody goody schtick portrayal is just off - this part needs to be tougher and she misplays the scene with PSH in which she's supposed to be down the line instead of that swayed. I usually like her ........ but she's the weak link....

Two fine performances, but Davis wins this.

This is the only matchup Amy Adams should ever win.

Davis. Adams is so cringe-inducing.

This was the tipping point for me with Amy Adams where I became well and truly sick of her shit. That Frosty the Snowman scene is truly embarrassing. Davis deservedly became a star off the back of that performance. Only woman from that film that deserved a nomination.

Davis by far, I don’t buy Amy Adams in this film, one of the least deserving acting nomination of the 00's.

Davis, but no idea how people think this is the point where it started to turn stale for Adams.
Based on the previous results, it seems people really like her in The Fighter, AND obviously that was far from a performance where you can say is like Enchanted, Junebug, and Doubt if you like to surmise those 3 together as a similar "act."
And even if you hate her in American Hustle, she comes back years later with Arrival. This is one the strongest working actresses as far as I'm concerned and has had an accomplished career. And she's only getting started...... needless to say.

Adams is TERRIBLE in this, and I'm not even being hyperbolic. It's pretty easily her worst nominated performance. I wasn't wowed by Davis' snotworks but at least she didn't embarrass herself.

Davis is good. Too much snot but that's always the case with her. I've said this before but there's always been an element of meticulous staginess to her work that can be frustrating. Her emotional scenes all feel too controlled/rehearsed, like you imagine a switch being flipped, but it's better than whatever Adams was doing that's for sure. Frosty the snowman my ass.
