just saw again last night, and I know a lot of people dislike it, but honestly I think it is brilliant, easily the best so far in the show based on my rewatch. It almost feel like a Beckettian absurdist play or something, wonderful stuff, and some of the best acting so far! and that final shot of the fly sitting in the red light of the smoke detector is just perfection.

I'm surprised to hear people dislike that Episode, I thought it was one of the best of the Series.

If I'm remembering it right, it is sort of the closest thing Breaking Bad has to a self contained episode. It may not forward the overall story along too much (perhaps that's why people don't like it), but it does add development and further shades to the relationship of Walt and Jesse, which is what I liked most about it.

It's brilliant, especially the conversation about Jane towards the end, where Walt apologizes for letting her die but Jesse doesn't catch this. One of the best written scenes of the entire show.

I think it's pretty good, they tried something different, works well as a stand-alone unlike almost every other episode and it's good character development, or better said, a good way to show the relationship between the protagonists in a new light. However, no tea no shade, I don't get some of you who claim it's (one of) the best. Like bkguy182, it's way too obvious and forced and just not as smart as it thinks it is.

It's an okay episode, I don't think it deserves all the fireworks people seem to throw its way, but it's not undeserving of any manure either.

I felt like they used it for it´s value as a metaphor, but at the same time also embraced the slight absurdity of it and took it in a nicely self-aware and darkly comedic way.

I remember reading that they only did it because the series came in waaaay over budget and needed an episode with as few characters and sets as was possible.
I really liked the episode, the character building throughout the show was always pretty great I thought but slowing it down really helped that imo. I have heard plenty of criticisms though.

Yeah it's the prime definition of a bottle episode. They had to cut back so they just filmed an episode focusing on the two main characters and did the best they could with that. And it worked in my opinion. It think it might be the most divisive episode ever, if not top five.
