His script made the Blacklist? This is the second time this year that he scored good notices.

Never been a fan. Much like Lohan, a Disney child star who was praised for being such a great actor that never rang true to me.

Haven't seen the appeal yet - Honey Boy, Peanut Butter Falcon, etc. seem like mannered at best so-so indie sh it to me - the films that get 95% on RT and no one really cares about or at least I don't. At a certain point he's going to have to come out in the real world and maybe then it'll click for me.........a lot of sharp people on this board liked Honey Boy and nodded him for it so it's not that crazy.
He has many of the same drawbacks to me as Paul Dano who I always hated on film but was flat out great in Love & Mercy and may be a great Riddler too......you can never tell....especially in your mid 30s.....

Maybe?
He burned a lot of bridges, but everyone loves a comeback story. Plus he seems sincere in changing his life and open about his previous bad mistakes which I think goes a long way.
I imagine he’ll stick to indies, but he could luck out if it’s a weak year. Like if The Peanut Butter Falcon came out this year, not that I think he’d win for that, but I think it would have been huge since I think people would have really ate up how feel good it was with everything that’s been going on this year. And then he could have built on the momentum.
He still has momentum now after last year, but he’s going to do better than that to come close to winning an Oscar. Still the fact that this time last year I would have laughed at a question like this thinking there was absolutely no way it would happen, to a pessimistic maybe is pretty big imo.

Just ask Kim Kardashian.

Yeah, I'm not a fan, either. Never convinced me of his talent.

I think so. Be it for acting or writing (not necessarily for this movie). He’s one of the most talented people working today.
That script won the sun valley film festival high scribe award by the way (meaning Stephen Gaghan is going to give him some guidance with the script).

I think he just stays indie. Don't really see him winning Oscars or making a mainstream "comeback". He hasn't been in a wide release studio film since Fury. He still seems to be unofficially blacklisted from Hollywood and with how it turned out the first time I wouldn't even be sure he wants to make a "comeback". He might just be fine laying low.
