I used to watch this show somewhat frequently as a kid when it would play on Nick at Nite in the late 90s and early 2000s. Having not watched it since then, I just checked out the first episode on Hulu to see how it held up, and was surprised how much I enjoyed it still. Boy does it hit all the nostalgia buttons, and Stern’s narration is riotously funny.
Any fans of this show?

I always felt a little weird because even though I liked Winnie, I didn’t really like her and Kevin together. They always seemed to have too much drama, imo, and I thought there were other girls that were a better fit like the girl he met on summer vacation. I mean I get why it didn’t or couldn’t last, but I felt that Kevin really loved. With Winnie, I think Kevin also loved her, but I think a lot of it was based on living next door to each other, and missing chances to be together. I also loved Madeline. I also thought Paul’s sister’s crush on Kevin was cute, but I barely remember her in any episodes outside of that one. Also loved the complicated relationship between Kevin and his father. Neither his father or brother Wayne, well at least most of the time for Wayne lol, were bad people, but it wasn’t surprising that Kevin would go onto more than his father and brother. Without looking at any episode guides, off the top of my head, the one where Winnie’s brother(?) dies in Vietnam is up there, the one where Kevin goes to a dance with Paul’s sister, the one where Kevin runs against Becky Slater in a school election, the one where Kevin goes on vacation with Paul tagging along except Paul was sickly all of the time, and finally the one where Wayne gets a great girlfriend that almost seems too good for him, but then she makes out with Kevin, and you feel for all three characters.

Yeah, watched it growing up and was a big fan. Haven’t rewatched in probably 25 years.
