I got spoiled beforehand and was able to prepare myself. Fitting ending to a hot mess of a season, I guess. Sasha was my pick going into the season and arguably deserved at least two wins that don't even matter now. Hail new King Bob.

Worst finale ever. And I'm not even talking about the outcome. They wanted to do good TV and couldn't and along the way they lost all the credibility (I know I know it's a stupid reality show, they didn't have much to begin with). Plus pretty underwhelming lip syncs from all involved. It was a hot mess.

Plus pretty underwhelming lip syncs from all involved. It was a hot mess. A lot of reality shows have the finale come down to a big showdown and consistency throughout the season is kind of thrown out the window... but to change the format after eight years is strange. I'm sure it's a combination of the fanbase complaining about predictability/staleness and a lot of the lip syncs this season being bland as fuck. I've read theories that they must have concocted this halfway through the season because it had been so disappointing so far. It was super refreshing that: you don't bring it, you're booted (see Valentina). Shea was very consistent and would have been a worthy winner, but she stayed at the same level the entire season for me. Plus she was insanely complacent by the time this final lip sync came along, can't believe she was just twirling over and over. But girl, who can blame her? She thought she had it in the bag.
Can't agree with finding the lip syncs underwhelming though. Trinity should have won the first matchup, as cool as Pep's reveal was, that's all she had. So low energy for most of it. Sasha assassinated Shea in the second one. Hands down. I've rewatched it so many times this morning. The more I think about it, the happier I get.

Yeah the finale was weak overall. It was missing the shadey bitchfest that we got in the reunion episode. That was brilliant, especially everyone shit on Valentina time, because I was delighted with that, even if it did seem to be water off an arrogant ducks back with her.
So finale wise, Peppermint v Trinity was a solid battle, and I was disappointed that Trinity didn't hit the final two, as she was better, but I never really believed she would take the crown. I did have this horrible feeling throughout the finale that Ru was gonna give the crown to Peppermint, thankfully it didn't play out that way, and thankfully it was Sasha and not Shea who took it home. I was genuinely pleased that Shea didn't win, because talented as she is, she was way overpraised throughout the Season. Sasha is a fine winner for the Season. Her looks are mostly great, she's a solid comedian and a fine lip-syncer.
This season has definitely been the weakest of them all, although I still haven't seen Season 1. It just didn't feel like Drag Race, it was all very cold and sterile for the most part.
Anyways, congratulations to Sasha. Where would I rank her among the other winners....
Sharon Needles Bianca Del Rio Alaska Jinkx Monsoon Violet Chachki Raja Sasha Velour Chad Michaels Bob the Drag Queen Tyra Sanchez

I agree that Trinity was way better. But I believe that the best lip syncs of the season are still in the regular part of the show and they are: Trinity's murdering of Charlie Hides and Peppermint's assassination of Cuculina.

What did you think of 8? Similarly Bob basically slayed and I was bored for a lot of it. Not a fan or is that just where she ranks?

So I think I've watched the So Emotional lip sync ten times today. Can't get enough.

I enjoyed Season 8, brief as it was and I don't necessarily mind Bob, she's got some goods, but for someone who classes themselves as a comedy queen and comedian I just don't think she's all that funny. Kim Chi should have won Season 8, she was much more talented than Bob, and I'd argue she was funnier than him too. It's hard to rank the winners actually, because we haven't had a bad winner at all (imo). I even quite like Tyra who I rank last, and think it would have been crazy for her to not at least be the runner up. I often feel like I'm the only one who loved Season 7. In terms of ranking the Seasons, I would put it ahead of 2, 3, 8, 9 and All Stars 1.

Pearl and Ru's stare off killed me.

I loved Pearl so much and Violet / Pearl / Ginger for me is probably the strongest final 3 they've had. If it had been Katya / Pearl / Violet you could forget the probably.

I'm sure we'll have a thread dedicated to the Season when it is starting, but for now, in case any fans hadn't heard, here's the line-up for All Stars Season 3.
Aja BenDeLaCreme Chi Chi DeVayne Kennedy Davenport Milk Morgan McMichaels Shangela Thorgy Thor Trixie Mattel As yet unnamed 10th Queen
I may be alone here, but I think it is probably a bit too soon for this to have returned. I look at the above and it doesn't seem as strong as the first season of all-stars, never mind the incredible second Season. Anyway, my thoughts on those returning.
Aja Her slam dunk performance on the Season 9 reunion episode aside, I was never into her. BenDeLaCreme Love this gal, and hope she kills it. Chi Chi DeVayne Exactly the same as with BenDeLa. Kennedy Davenport Meh, hopefully the first off. Milk I'm torn on Milk, as I like the idea of what she does, but the execution never quite works for me. Morgan McMichaels I genuinely had to check, as I was actually thinking of Nicole Paige Brooks when I say the name. Shangela I love Shangela, she's one of my favourite Queens of the 9 seasons; but a third go around! Come on Ru, so many others could have been given a second chance. Thorgy Thor Again, I don't mind his return, but I would have preferred to see some others back. Trixie Mattel Her shtick and look have never worked for me, so while I'm not as down on her return as Aja and Kennedy, I'd still rather her not be back.
As for the 10th queen, I would hate if it was Valentina, but that's my fear.

Not an attack against you, but I think Trixie is just one of many performers who got the shit end of the stick on RPDR. The show has degenerated into a grossly manipulated and overproduced pile of garbage, so it's really no surprise that a lot of the queens's personalities get completely drowned out. I was indifferent to Trixie on her season, but after seeing much more of her post-show on various online channels, I now think she is probaly the funniest queen of the show's entire run, rivaled only by Katya (go figure).
Also, I'm surprised Ben came back after publicly badmouthing his experience on the show. It's reported that he declined to be on AS2 because he was no longer interested in the franchise. Money talks, I guess.

I definitely take your point on the show being "grossly manipulated and overproduced", although I still can't help but love it; maybe not as much as I used to, but who loves any show as much after 11 seasons. I don't completely dislike Trixie, but even with the stuff I've watched of her post her Season, which is mostly her videos with Katya; I always find her somewhat amusing and completely overshadowed. I do get that she has a quite big fan base, so it is completely understandable why she's on. I just personally would prefer a good 10 or so to come back before her.

we ready to spill the T on all stars 3? What a weird season. It was an odd one for sure, up and down would be how I'd describe it. I think the issue was that it was a noticeable decline in quality of entertainment and standard of competitor after the classic of All Stars 2. I honestly think BenDeLa (and maybe Shangela) is the only one who could have seriously competed in #2. In relation to the finale, letting the other Queens pick the final two was stupid, but TV needs 'twists' don't it. The Snatch Game was so weak, but the The Bitchelor was so fantastic that it made up for it. Looking at the Queens as individuals: Aja While I stand by my questioning of the justification of her return, I am now officially a convert. She killed as best she could, on her still somewhat limited talents. BenDeLaCreme That exit has to be one of the weirdest and most hilarious moments in drag race herstory. I'd love to say I was gagged, but I saw it coming from a mile away. I guess it's good she went, as come on, had she not it would have been the most obvious winner ever. She was far and away the A+++ queen on this Season. Chi Chi DeVayne I love Chi Chi, so this was a little bit of a let down. Although major props to her for being aware enough of her limitations to admit to them. Kennedy Davenport I'm so torn on Kennedy, as overall she is one of the most talented Queens this show has seen, but damn her personality at times is intolerable. I had come around to her for the most part by the end of the Season, and while she didn't fully deserve that spot in the final, I can't help but like that she got it. Milk What a douche. Her exit might be my moment of the Season. Talented Queen all the same. Morgan McMichaels I'm kinda shocked she didn't have more the offer in terms of obvious skill and experience. This was a let down really, but at the same time I didn't care, as I've never been interested in her. Shangela I've always loved Shangela, and I love her even more now. She has become such a talent, and was the talking head of the Season. She should have won, but whatever...she was only gypped of a win she deserved thanks to Ben quitting. Thorgy Thor I was meh on her prior to the Season, now I'm just over her completely. Trixie Mattel Oh Trixie dear, why doesn't your talent translate to the TV screen...well okay it occasionally did, and in a choice between Kennedy and Trixie, she was the right one, but I would only put her as my 4th or maybe even 5th best overall for the Season. BeBe Zahara Benet If this bitch isn't one of the most quotable of all times, then I just don't know. I found her arrogance hysterical and she is very talented too. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm starting to feel like Ru is a little over it all, and I'm definitely getting that feeling in Season 10.
