So what did we all think of the new bunch of Queens? Overall I wasn't overly impressed. I was only very loving one and kinda feeling positive about another handful or less. I might be being harsh though, as this Season is coming off the back of All-Stars 2, so it was always going to be a hard act to follow. My early run down:
Aja
Could be an interesting one, but did nothing nothing to impress me yet. Alexis MichelleSeems like a middle of the road kinda finisher for me. Charlie Hides
I feel like I'm gonna like her, and think she'll do well, but was so forgettable on the runway. Eureka O'Hara
Could be the bitch of the Season, but I hope not, as I see her as one of the early favourites for the win and bitches do get tiresome (Courtney Act). Farrah Moan Seems sweet but forgettable. Jaymes Mansfield
So Trixie Mattel now has competition in the comedy queens who aren't funny category. Kimora Blac
Expecting some fantastic looks from this lady, I'm a fan so far. Calling her another early favourite. Nina Bo'nina Brown
I was so relieved when she walked through the door, as I wasn't feeling anyone as a character yet, and she grabbed me right away. So pleased she won the challenge. I would say she's the early doors Queen B. Peppermint
Liking her a lot too, should be an entertaining presence for however long she lasts, but I don't see her as a contender. Sasha Velour
I wanna like, but I was super unimpressed with both runways. I'm 50/50 on how I think she'll do. Shea Coulee
Another one I'm an early doors fan of and calling a contender. Loving her so far and her first runway look was the highlight of the episode. Trinity Taylor Just fuck off now. Valentina
Seemed decent, I didn't like her first runway look at all. I was surprised the judges liked it so much. Seems like the internet is feeling Cynthia Lee Fontaine as the 14th contestant...I wouldn't hate that, but I wish it could be Lineysha Sparx. Overall it was a slightly promising premiere, but I'm expecting it to get stronger and stronger as it goes on.

It was a... strange premier. I'm digging Nina and Sasha looks to be a standout. I feel like Farrah is going to be a lot of fun. I'm just glad there were some diverse looks after Kimono-gate. Kind of surprised there was no meat dress.

The greats: Obviously Nina Bo'nina Banana Fofana Osama Bin Laden Brown gurl. Superb in both runaways, loved her entry look too, and clearly a personality. Definitely a fav and best in show. And probably should get top five. Shea Coulee's hometown look was awesome, probably the best of those. Her Gaga look, not so much. Definitely one of my favourites though, and gotta be looking at a top five finish. I thought Charlie Hides' Gaga runway look was superb, top three for me for that look. Her hometown look...funny and cute but not exceptionally so (if the tear-away had worked, it would've been slightly better). I think she lasts into the top half but probably goes just before the top five. Sasha Velour's Gaga look was also great, out of the box and original choice. Loved. Her hometown look was creative but somewhat messy. I can see her making the top five, but isn't a sure thing. Valentina's hometown look was great. Gaga look was pretty great too. I think she's top five, she'll get the Adore/Pearl type treatment.
Middle of the road: I cannot stand the personality on Eureka O'Hara, but her Gaga look was pretty great, even if nothing exceptional. Her hometown look was trash though (and not the good kind). I don't know if she'll last, but they'll keep her a while for entertainment purposes. Peppermint's Gaga look was, again, an interesting, out of the box choice, though I would've loved the lightning bolt too. I also enjoyed the hometown look, even if it was a taaad messy. I think she lasts into the middle of the pack ala Jiggly/Ivy/Dida/Joslyn. Aja's make-up was messy as all hell. I didn't mind her hometown look, her Gaga look was out there too which I enjoyed...but that make-up...almost a no thanks.
No thanks: The padding on Alexis Michelle's Gaga look aside, she looked like a class act there. But her hometown look was awful, truly a mess. And the bitch needs to stfu when Gaga is talking. She will go in the first half without a doubt in my mind. Although she looked beautiful, Farrah Moan didn't fill the brief in the hometown look at all and her Gaga look was boring af...even if there had of been a reveal. Tired ass show gurl. She'll probably go reasonably early. I completely disagree with you on Kimora Blac - her looks were so tryhard ho, she did not impress me at all. I say they keep her around for drama, I see her getting middle of the road but only because of the drama factor. I hated Trinity Taylor's forgettable hometown look. Couldn't even tell where she was from and thought she could've done something way more iconic than that. Her Gaga look wasn't anything special either. And she was pretty annoying. No thanks. I think she goes soon too.
Awful: So can we just get rid of Jaymes Mansfield already? Poor, messy bitch. Terrible make-up too. You could see that beard from Mars. This bitch is surely going next.
I'd add Cucu to awful, but I'll give her a chance...

Kind of surprised there was no meat dress. It was strange, something felt a little off about it. Also, all that ass kissing of Lady Gaga while to be expected, still got a little too much. One other thing that is really starting to bug me, is the over the top laughter from the judges and guest judges at the jokes they are saying while they narrate over the runway walks. I'm not saying a lot of the jokes aren't funny, because cheap as most of them are, they typically are still funny, but they way they laugh at their own / each others jokes, you will think they were reading A+ standard jokes written by Billy Connolly, Richard Pryor and Bill Hicks.

Glad to see I'm not alone in my dislike of Trinity, and yes, poor Jaymes. The only worry I have is that they'll try and turn him into some sort of redemption Queen, where he'll do bad / terrible in the first few weeks, then suddenly get good, then great and then win the fucking thing. I feel like the show is itching for a big girl winner too.

Kimora Blac was the worst I hope she goes before Jaymes Mansfield. Just some talentless, boring, cheap ass drag queen.

I think the lack of workroom stuff, the fun de-drag scenes where you see them all out of costume, plus no one being eliminated... just made the whole thing feel like an extended preview or something.

I just like Charlie cause she's old and was nice to the mopey puppet one in Untucked. I like Nina cause her head was a peach. I like Valentina because she raises her hand before speaking. Shea had a hotdog on her head and I appreciate that. Eureka is annoying and Sasha is the people at my school who don't wear shoes to class. I want either Trinity or Eureka to leave as soon as possible so I don't have to hear more about their pageant rivalry. Farrah's giving me Fame vibes, in that you kinda expect her to be all stuck up and off-putting but it turns out she's a dork who really loves chickens. Kimora is like Gia Gunn except she doesn't have the decency to accidentally be funny.

So my thoughts on episode 2 (spoilers of course): - Although I like Cynthia, she wouldn't have been anywhere near the top of my list for people to bring back, but she has the story I guess. She needs to shut up with this 'CuCu' shit though; cause sweetie that ran cold on Season 8. Also, runway wise, for a comeback look, that was weak, just like your looks on Season 8.
- This was a much better episode than the Season opener.
- The challenge presentation itself was pretty lame in the end. I expected lots of laughs, I got none.
- The B-52s where pretty dull guest judges.
- I love Lisa Kudrow, but what in the world was the point of her appearance on the show? Did I go into a brief coma and miss something?
- Trinity Taylor took herself off of my shit list, although I'm still far from a fan.
- I'm really getting to like Peppermint, she gave a great all around performance this week.
- Shea and Nina still rule.
- Aja, Alexis, Sasha and Farrah and continue to play like extras for me.
- Shea should have won the challenge, but I can live with Valentina.
- While part of me is glad Kimora stayed, cause I called her as having lots of potential, she absolutely should have went home.
- Jaymes, as bad as he was in the challenge, wiped the floor with Kimora on the runway and in the lip sync.
Predicted Winner at Week 2: Sticking with Nina Bo'nina Banana Fofana Osama Bin Laden Brown, but Shea is right on her ass.

Predicted Winner at Week 2: Sticking with Nina Bo'nina Banana Fofana Osama Bin Laden Brown, but Shea is right on her ass. Summed it up well. Found the episode to be incredibly rushed and the cheerleading challenge was not executed well at all. Alexis is uncomfortably "intense" as she described herself on Untucked... wonder if she's getting a villain edit. She comes off like a real dick to me. lol. Charlie shutting Eureka down was quite something as well. Hope next week brings it -- the season and editing has felt really off so far.

That cheerleading challenge is probably the worst challenge in Drag Race herstory. "What's a bloomer?" indeed. Oh and "Who does cartwheel anymore?". LOL I don't like Kimora at all but I agreed with her in this episode.

I'll add myself a little late to the mix. I stayed away from the tv show boards because there were some shows I didnt want to be spoiled on.
First of all: The Queens.
Aja: I came to expect a lot of her, since she was kinda shoved down my throat on social media for being THE Queen to know (as one of the queens said in the first episode). So far, not a fan. I mean, that makeup really is rough. Im getting Adore Delano's makeover bride eyes. Its just way to dark. And these lips look like a three year old found mothers lipstick and used it all up. She said shes a mad performer. Im curious to see that. Because so far I dont see too much talent. Just a decent style. But that aint it. Also, I find her very annoying on Untucked. Very attention whore. Hometown look, blah. Gaga look good (despite that makeup). Cheerleader challenge: I dont remember.
Alexis Michelle: Dont really care for her. I see her going home in the next three episodes. I forgot about her hometown look. Her Gaga look was alright. Dont remember her in the cheer challenge. Not a good sign.
Charlie Hides: First of all: I wouldve told Eureka to shut up as well. Bitch is constantly talking over everyone. Now to Charlie Hides. I love snarky queens so I may end up liking her a great deal. So far Im not impressed tho. Her looks were on point (except that hometown unwrapping fauxpas). Didnt remember her on the cheerleader challenge.
Cynthia Lee Fontaine: Good god. I mean, I am very happy for her to beat cancer. Really happy. But, my god. I cant stand her. She is just too annoying. The whole Cucu thing was already done on season 8. There were far more deserving queens. Like Leila McQueen for example. And I hope Visage will call her out. Cause she loves the "Show us the real you" (Bendelacreme anyone, where I found Visage extremely biased) thing. She will definitely make it to the top 6/7 cause Ru brought her back.
Eureka: I did quite like her in the first episode cause she has funny one-liners. Already annoyed by episode two. Bitch has to comment on EVERYTHING. Also she didnt seem to genuine in her breakdown in front of Gaga. She could become reeeaallly annoying.
Farrah Moan: She is quite cute. I like ditzy blondes. She looked quite good in the Gaga look. Her hometown was alright. And I actually didnt remember anyone from the Cheerleader challenge except Valentina and Shea. So Ill stop that.
Kimora Blac: Ugh. Dont like anything about her. Her drag looks cheap. She is a spoiled brat and her lipjob looks crooked. Please send her home soon!
Nina Bo'Nina Brown: She was my favorite on episode one. I found her a bit needy on episode two Untucked. But she probably was just a bit insecure. Killer style! Hope she has other talents as well. I see her be funny tho.
Peppermint: Another favorite. Loved her on episode one (although her style is questionable). Loved her attitude on episode two, where her white party look, again, was questionable. Endearing personality and doesnt seem as obnoxious and some of the queens.
Sasha Velour: She seems a bit granola (like Thorgy just of the opposite hair). Her looks are spot on though and Im usually a fan of the queens that are a bit different (love Jinkx!). Curious to see what else she got.
Shea Couleé: A bit surprised how everyone is loving her so much. Didnt take note of her in episode one. And although she was quite good in the cheer I basically forgot about everything else she has done so far.
Trinity Taylor: Ugh. I mean, she for sure is polished, but she is too pageanty for me. No thanks.
Valentina: Prettiest queen (in and out of drag) hands down. She seems very sweet and genuine. I hope she has more to give than looks and bubblyness tho. An absolute fave. And she slayed ALL looks and was the MVP of the cheerleading challenge for me.
Jaymes Mansfield: I was rooting for him and I think he was better in the lipsync. But it wasnt his time.
So far Im quite disappointed though. The editing, especially on episode two, was such bullshit. From minute one it was quite obvious who was gonna go home and the cheerleading challenge, as fun as it was, was so over the place and it was impossible to keep up with the queens. The panel on episode two was quite a disaster. Considering how they pushed Kudrow as a quest judge in the promos her appearance was quite lackluster. RuPaul seems quite over it I feel. The HD isnt doing the queens any favors. The Untucked has reached the point of Staged to Death, and so far Im quite underwhelmed by the queens.
This is like my favorite show ever. Ive seen every season at least 5 times, but it seems like it has lost some of its originality. I hope it wasnt killed by mainstream.
Favorites so far:
Nina Bo'Nina Brown Peppermint Sasha Velour Valentina
Like, but have to show a bit more:
Charlie Hides Farrah Moan
So far unimpressed but I see potential:
Shea Couleé
Send them home:
Alexis Michelle Cynthia Lee Fontaine Kimora Blac Trinity Taylor
Annoying, but might entertain: Aja Eureka

I'm with you on more or less everything, aside from Shea being on of my three of four favourites and my being underwhelmed by Sasha so far. While I don't see her winning, I think Peppermint is the most watchable and likeable Queen of the bunch, so I hope she makes it to the final 5/6. Cynthia and her CuCu has indeed gotten very tired, very quickly. I just hope no one turn her saying CuCu into a drinking game, we don't need any deaths by alcohol poisoning.

Well, I'll rewatch the first two episodes quite soon, maybe thatll change my view on Shea. Since I rewatched the seasons so often I cant remember if I usually have a definite favorite by episode two. Because, so far, even if I like some, Im still not convinced. A drinking game is an excellent idea, though possibly fatal for the ones that dont hold their liquor too well. Im sure shes nice tho. Just trying waaaaaay too hard!

Who's gonna be the genuinely funny one this season you think? So far I havent really LOLd I think. They all, as I said already, still seem a bit tryhard, which kills all comedy.

So far no one is standing out as funny, I mean Jaymes was HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but foreshame she's gone, and I is devestated . Seriously though, I think Peppermint, Charlie and Nina could be funny, and Farrah Moan could be unintentionally funny, which is fine by me. I haven't really had a big lol either, but it is early days. I think the show is at a point now where the contestants probably are a little too self aware, so they most likely are trying to force a persona through, which is likely resulting in this tryhardiness.

I started to somewhat dislike her post-show. Her shtick eventually grew old and "Hurricane Bianca" was not the trashy B-Movie I expected. It was just bad. Jaymes was quite funny, yeah. I think I got where he was going and he was so sweet when he packed his bags. Peppermint has great potential. And his comments do show a great sense of humor. I cant wait for Charlie to be his supposed snarky self. Nina will be a different kind of funny I think. Yeah, youre absolutely right. They are too self aware. They know what kind of audience is watching and what theyre expecting. Im quite enjoying this, so: If you had to compare all of the current queens with queens from previous seasons, what would they be? Aja: A more polished and stylish Serena ChaCha. She has this "Im an artist from NYC, so Im special" attitude. Alexis Michelle: Probably all of the pageant queens, but I sense a lot of Roxxxy Andrews in her. Charlie Hides: Well, Chad Michaels, obviously. Eureka O'Hara: She has the talent, but also the sense of bitterness and entitlement of Ginger Minj (not All-Stars where she was just meh) and a little bit of Laganja's attention whoreiness. Farrah Moan: I sense Jade Jolie. Shes sweet, but probably underrated by her competitors. Jaymes Mansfield: Well, probably Trixie Mattel. If she had stayed longer she couldve become a Jinkx type. Kimora Blac: I sense Alyssa Summers (in the way of ego and 'sexy fishiness'). Maybe a bit of whininess of Gia, but I loved Gia and I dont like Kimora. So maybe not. Nina Bo'Nina Brown: Shes a tough one. She reminds me of Bob the Drag Queen in the way of professionalism but a tiny bit of messiness. Also humor and style and selfe awareness could be similar. Peppermint: She reminds me of Dida in her genuine niceness. Also a bit of Bob in her confessionals. And Bob was quite nice and accessible as well. Peppermint is just not as loud. Sasha Velour: Well, I really had to think of Thorgy. Theyre both quite different, a bit granola but very polished and talented. Shea Couleé: She reminds me of LaShawn Beyond (lookwise). Her character (or lack thereof) doesnt give me anything so far. Trinity Taylor: She has the entitlement of a pageant queen like Roxxxy. And I dislike her, just like Roxxxy. So, yeah. Valentina: She reminds me of a less bitchy Tatianna (especially lookwise). And I freaking love Tatianna! And I find her as nice as Jinkx or Ivy.
