Best Costume Design is potential. If the studio plays their cards right, and it's a critically successful film, they could earn the film a Screenplay nomination, or one of the supporting performances (more than likely it will be for Kirsten Dunst from what I've heard). I'd say it's a long shot for Best Picture though.

She definitely should have received nominations for Interview with the Vampire, The Virgin Suicides and Melancholia. She deserves far more recognition, that's for sure.

The Cannes win for Sofia Coppola certainly boosts its prestige profile - could Dunst be a contender in Supporting Actress?

None, but the Cannes prize did increase awareness and if it's a huge arthouse box office hit, maybe she could contend in a completely desolate Adapted screenplay category

It certainly has a chance for on of the Actresses whether it's Dunst or Kidman maybe a Costume Design. I'm currently predicting an Adapted Screenplay nomination.

I'd say with Focus Features behind it, it's got a good shot at Costumes, Art Direction and Adapted Screenplay. But I don't see any acting nods unless Supporting Actress severely underwhelms.

What else does Focus have this year? I'd say it could be a player for Costumes, Adapted Screeplay, DP and maybe Dunst or Kidman.

Victoria and Abdul, Darkest Hour, and PTA-- so a really deep year And it doesn't help that the costume designer is a nobody with no previous noms elsewhere, and cinematography is already looking packed this year
