a project you think is clearly stupid and unworthy of their talent? Particularly if it happens over and over again? Do you feel less inclined to go to the cinema and spend money on their movies in the future?

Not really - Al Pacino has done some mind-boggling awful stuff - I mean he's been in films that he shouldn't even see much less actually be in .....but I just chalk it up to his weird nature - like Oldman, De Niro or Kingsley......Hopkins too......I mean Olivier too - shudder. I actually get more mad at the opposite like when people say "_________ is the best actor ever because he never sells out!" and I'm like " Ok, so you're rewarding him for being consistently average or what?" like there's an importance of a filmography - THAT'S real - and then there is what you can do once you HAVE the filmography ...... all the guys I mention above could do porn and it would be fine with me.......and it'd be the best acted porn ever

It bothers me if it happens over and over, particularly for actors I like or think have great potential but aren't making it to that upper echelon because of the mediocrity of the majority of projects they're taking (like Pine). For actors that already have it all, it doesn't bother me much at all but I'd obviously prefer if they did something better suited to their talents or that I was more interested in seeing to begin with.

For actors that already have it all, it doesn't bother me much at all but I'd obviously prefer if they did something better suited to their talents or that I was more interested in seeing to begin with. My feelings are pretty much the same. Of course, I’m sure some of it is what an actor is offered, and like with someone like Pine trying to become A-List but balance that with good roles/films, but even then I do get annoyed if an actor that doesn’t have it all already, that I think is talented just does crap for a while. For instance, I like Jennifer Aniston, but her film choices would drive me crazy a long, long time ago. I mean part of it was probably what she was being offered, but it seemed she’d play the love interest, which was a role that she could do in her sleep, or do something where she was wildly miscast. Even with actors who have it all, I get frustrated because they can seem so lazy. Admittedly if I were at that level of fame and that rich, I’d probably do crap all the time lol, but at least I respect actors more that either own it like Michael Caine, or at least are never lazy imo like Al Pacino in contrast with someone like Johnny Depp, who I think became lazy and upped up the quirkiness instead of putting in the work. I’m on the fence with actors like Sandler and Stallone. They have talent, and they know their brand, but it’s just so disappointing when they do something like Copland or Uncut Gems, and then they’ll go back to doing unwatchable crap for the next 10-15 years. Again if I got offered the kind of money that they do, I’d definitely sell out lol, but I do wish there was more effort there.

No. One of the most annoying phrases is “——— is too good for the movie.” It’s just so fucking elitist and as if you have any validity to tell them how they should manage their career. If a prestige actor wants to take a fluffy role, or a paycheck role, or a super hero role their kids will enjoy, good for them.

It only annoys me if they treat the project as beneath them, or half-ass it, or don't even show up to do anything more than collect a paycheck.

If we're talking about a top tier actor/actress, it bothers me a bit. It annoys me more when we're talking about actors who have proven they're very but keep taking shitty roles (The Stallone and Sandler examples are good ones). It also annoys me when they have started a promising career and suddenly "ruin" it by starring in garbage movies (imo that's what Johnny Depp and birthday girl Angelina Jolie did).

No. Credit card bills don't pay themselves.

Also...I’d rather have Adam Sandler’s career and his $400+ mil than Ryan Gosling’s.
