1. Isabelle Huppert - Yeah, it's no brainer here.
2. Emma Thompson - A total hit during her time. A radiance during the early 90s, she was definitely a sight to behold, a must-see/can't miss in that period.
3a. Sharon Stone - just thinking about her in Basic Instinct is major pussy combustion. An icon which gave the 90s much of its retrospective veneer.
3b. Angelica Huston - Warmness is her key trait. Another pivotal cultural figure in the late American era, hard to compete with her from 1987-1991.
3c. Michelle Pfeiffer - Yeah, can't forget her. Should've been an Oscar winner by now.
HM: Steenburgen and Winger waiting in the wings.

I love this thread Huppert (duh), Adjani, Judy Davis - no Americans - and that kills me to leave Hunter off .......and this is a big deal to me because one actress here has the Triple Crown of Acting ( McDormand) and 2 Oscars and that TC is a big deal to me but she's (very) arguably the weakest actress to win it - I love her but her range is lesser than some powerhouses on here. Note: Damn didn't realize Dafoe did so well in the 50s male poll - this board loves him and he beats two big Americans in his generation Denzel/Hanks ......Blanchett winning over board sacred cow/poll Queen Kidman makes me feel for once it's a just and noble world

Pfeiffer for me. She's just good to great in everything, which is amazing considering how lazy an actress who looks like that could have been. I've seen too many movies with Huppert where I just didn't get it, even though she's GOAT level in The Piano Teacher and Pfeiffer has nothing like that.

1. Huppert 2. Judy Davis 3. Holly Hunter
Pfeiffer & Fran are right there too - on another day I might put Pfeiffer at 2 or 3, especially if this was favorite not best, and Fran's three best perfs are godlike but needs more outside those (can't waitttt for Nomadland/Macbeth)
