Will post all the final stats and shit later tonight.
Do we want to do the 2010s?

Now this is a list that is very reflective of the very, very specific taste of the few MAR users who vote in this, even more so than usual, and it's a shame we couldn't get more damn ballots to iron it out a bit more. Still glad to see a lot of my picks made it (though certainly not all of them). As always, great job with this Joaquim!

I know I certainly would, though there would probably be so little consensus for that list that it'd be an even bigger mess than this one. Maybe if we could get a better voter turnout from the people on here who do listen to recent music rather than being dominated by the more retro-focused taste of the people who commonly post music here and we might have a coherent list that is more than just "arggh Rock is dead!" cynicism...

Great job, Joaquim! The list has probably too many indie rock albums for my liking, but it didn't turn out too bad in the end. I actually like a lot of the albums on there. And I'm all for doing the 2010s, which have given us some very interesting albums and I think is on par with the 2000s musically (just as great).

Guitar Romantic in the top 3 is a stunner....... a beautiful stunner. Wow!
And the right album won. Get fucked, Radiohead.
Excellent work, Joaq! Bring on the 2010s! I thought rock was dead until I heard WILD STAB by THE I DON'T CARES. What a masterpiece!

Amazing winner (perhaps my favorite so far). "Someday" and "Last Nite" are classics and they always put a smile on my face, no matter how harsh my day has been, but listening to the whole album is such a fresh and joyful experience that one wishes could last forever. Loved the presentation too! Do we want to proceed to the 2010s? Absolutely!

I would totally do a 2010 list although for me I'd probably have less influence on the most recent decade than any other music poll because my insane good taste (oh shut up!) hasn't been confirmed and validated by a passage of time consensus like the 60s-00s were......there'd be less "that's awfully pacinoyes-Rockist sounding" stuff on it I reckon.
By the time we get to the end of this decade I'll be so utterly out of step with the commercial consensus that my favorite music list will be something like: #1 - Cats screeching at 3 AM!.........#2 - Trash disposal stuck and dying!......etc

And perhaps make some more room for the ladies next time (FKA Twigs, Adele, J. Monáe)... I still can't believe that if it wasn't for me, Winehouse wouldn't even be on this list. Just an FYC.

Yes I agree ... and no Björk, PJ Harvey, Joanna Newsom, etc. made this list which are some of the biggest wtf snubs to me... I feel that female artists really dominated the 2010s at least as far as my favorites go, especially towards the back half of the decade, so I'm definitely hoping for the same.

Gentle shout out here to Sleater-Kinney who not only would I say was the female artist(s) of the decade - but with 3 great albums in the decade rival any male Rock band too. Their omission is more headscratching than any other female act given the nature of the list as it actually is......they fit the list and genre that dominated and still missed

Egregious snub... probably should’ve had it higher...

It would be nice to get more votes for the tens. Stuff with three votes in the top five isn't quite right.
Love that Guitar Romantic was so high. I was the #1 vote.
There was a lot of "indie landfill" on here though which I imagine will certainly be the case with the 10's.

The usual rearrangement of the Top 20 by ballot appearance with actual ranking in ().
1. Is This It - The Strokes (1) X. Kid A - Radiohead (2) 3. Elephant - The White Stripes (7) 4. Guitar Romantic - The Exploding Hearts (3) X. White Blood Cells - The White Stripes (4) X. Room on Fire - The Strokes (6) 7. In Rainbows - Radiohead (5) X. Up the Bracket - The Libertines (8) X. Ga ga ga ga ga - Spoon (9) X. By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers (10) X. The Libertines - The Libertines (11) X. Funeral - Arcade Fire (13) X. Salesmen and Racists - Ike Reilly (14) X. Good Bad Not Evil - Black Lips (15) X. American Idiot - Green Day (16) 16. The Mantle - Agalloch (12) X. Sea Change - Beck (17) X. Come Feel Me Tremble - Paul Westerberg (18) X. Kill the Moonlight - Spoon (19) X. Mono - Grandpaboy (Paul Westerberg) (20)
With 3 ballot appearances each, Lateralus, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not and Amnesiac would've made the Top 20.
Amnesiac at #39 is I think the furthest any album has been from the Top 20 when it would've been a Top 20 album if it were by ballot appearances.

Ranking each artist based on appearances on this list:
Radiohead: 4 Paul Westerberg/Grandpaboy: 3 Spoon: 3 Amy Winehouse: 2 Linkin Park: 2 Tool: 2 Agalloch: 2 The Libertines: 2 The White Stripes: 2 The Strokes: 2
Bob Dylan breaks the tie with Pink Floyd and now has an album represented for a record 4th decade.
I also believe Radiohead is now the only artist to have 2 albums in the Top 5 of two different decades.

Do my eyes deceive me or is there absolutely no Bjork or Animal Collective in here? Also no pop but that's to be expected. Does this board only listen to rock... Completely forgot that Lateralus was released in the 2000s otherwise it probably would have made the top 10 in my ballot and placed higher here. Great seeing both Tools here though. I'm the one who had 10,000 Days at #11--all their records have been solid except the latest. Also glad I'm not the only one who voted for the Florence, Bon Iver and Coldplay albums.

I haven't listened to Bon Iver, but I enjoyed his work on Anais Mitchell's Hadestown (FYC for the next presentation btw), so I'll check that one out.
