What do you think of his list? His list is like mine would be for Best Actors - they are all from the 70s and you know, fnck everybody else j/k- his list has 7 out of 10 from 1946-1952 and then Spinal Tap - 30+ years later! That's how a lot of people are with their faves - concentrated to a very specific period. I can't say anything about that list although generally people who have Rebecca on such a list are A-OK in my book. William Holden's estate ought to sue this board actually because for all out talk about the "2nd" best actor of the 50s after Brando - Bogart, Douglas, Dean, Clift - Holden makes a unique and specific argument: Sabrina, Bridge On The River Kwai, Stalag 17, Sunset Boulevard, The Country Girl, Picnic, Born Yesterday - that's a pace of nearly a classic per year........now I don't think of him as a "great actor" exactly (though he's a real good one for sure) and like I always say : Great actors are in great movies - your filmography matters - and that's quite an awesome decade indeed.....no one can compare to that in the 50s really and that's why so many people loved him.

It's a pretty fine list, and his choice in actors is pretty sterling. Tierney deserves more love nowadays and Holden stakes a claim of having one of the finest filmographies of any Golden Age actor.
Osborne was the sort of cinephile we should all aspire to be.

Robert had movie star looks when he was younger.
Well, my top two faves are Monty and Paul and well, William comes in 3rd. My introduction to William was Sabrina and I found him charming. It is easy to get why Audrey fell for him.
